Stop your Roatan resort search and just choose Luna Beach! My wife and I spent a ton of hours researching different places to stay in Roatan for our honeymoon and ultimately picked Luna Beach. Best decision we made! Her and I have done some extensive traveling together, but this is BY FAR our favorite trip we've done and we owe it all to Luna Beach.

Even prior to arriving to the resort, we knew we made the right choice when we were picked up in a Black Infiniti SUV by Darlon, the Resort's activities planner. This guy has the happiest and most lively personality on earth and we laughed with him the entire time. He even gave us a private tour of the town and made recommendations prior to our arrival at the beautiful resort. Just like the majority of the rest of the staff, you can tell Darlon loves his job and really strives to make sure guests are laughing and excited for their stay. This guy is truly a gem to this resort.

Once we arrived at Luna Baech, we found an open-concept, airy lobby and reception area with great ocean views and a chic, boho-style modern design. The outdoor dining, coffee shop, and our beachfront villa shared the same design. You can even see all of the reefs and dive spots from the beach of this resort. Upon entering our room, we found high-end finishes, a very comfortable king bed, rose pedals, champagne, and swan shaped towels on our bed to start our honeymoon off right.

Shortly after settling in, we had the opportunity to meet the owners, Richard and Jodie (sorry if I spelled it wrong!). These two were nothing short of amazing and the amount of passion they had for their resort and the guest experience truly provided an experience we've never had before (and we travel a lot!). They are very active owners and can tell they strive for perfection. It shows through the details in design and upgrades you can notice around the resort and how their staff is being trained to offer exemplary service. They found out we were active boaters back at our home (Florida) and took us on several private boat tours to all the hot spots on the water in the area on their 35 Island Runner that Richard personally drove down from Miami. Most of the boats you can ride around on in Roatan are junk. This boat is not one of those. Nicer than our boat at home. On our last day, Richard and his chef woke up early to cook us an authentic BBQ, including ribs, brisket, tri-tips and chicken. In summary, while there were other guests staying at this resort (several of which became vacation friends!), Richard and Jodie went out their way to create an exclusive experience for us that made us feel like we were their only guests and we couldn't be more grateful for their hospitality.

As for the activities offered by the resort, just do them all! Just like all mentioned above, the activities they offer and the staff they chose to run them were as top-notch as it comes. My wife was very nervous about going diving but she's now hooked thanks to our instructor, Alex, and the private scuba tour they set up for us. She was patient and confident and I don't think my wife would have done it had she not felt so comfortable with Alex's demeanor and instruction. The dolphin experience is off-site, but Darlon will prepare your snorkel gear and chauffer you over there. Make sure you pick the encounter AND the snorkel package. 100% worth it.

I could go on and on about this resort but you just need to book your room here and see it for yourself before the rest of the world discovers this place and occupancy hits 100% year round.

We've already shared our stories and pictures of our experience with our closest friends and family and will likely book one of their 3-5 bedroom villas in 2026. If we didn't already have a month long trip planned to Puerto Rico in 2025, we'd be back next year!

We are so thankful to Luna Beach for making our honeymoon an experience we will talk about and remember for the rest...

Stayed for a quick 5 days 4 nights in December and it was good, well all in all at least. Beachfront suite was definitely roomy and had a beautiful view of the ocean. 2 tv's but you could only choose 1 due to service limitations. The bottle opener on the side of the fridge was installed upside down so hopefully that gets fixed. The same was interesting because the code is on top so use the key that comes with your room key instead, otherwise use at your own risk! I requested the room to be cleaned once during our trip and was a little disappointed because the coffee pods were not replenished, not to mention the coffee machine or the area around either. I could feel sand in our bed when we went to bed so that sucked. Mind you i did ask for the room to be cleaned around noon so maybe I should have asked earlier in the morning? Food was pretty decent but it took a long time. I don't recommend getting a breakfast plan added as we got different information on every single morning of our trip. First we got a menu and paid for coffee and milk for our coffee which was a joke, but glad we didn't have to pay for our sugar lol. The next day my husband paid for it because he didn't show the voucher and then because he didn't order off the voucher list. 3rd morning I showed the voucher and said what I wanted and then at the end, the waitress tried to charge because I didn't show the voucher at the beginning....even though I showed the voucher...so that was also taken care of. The last morning, we were told we could only order from the coffee shop because the restaurant was closed! Soooo you're better off walking 10 mins to west end and getting breakfast there! That last day it took about 1.5 hours to get our breakfast which was checkout day as well. I usually take a quick look at my receipts when I'm charging food to our room and I overlooked one bill that I had been charged for 2 mimosas at our 1st breakfast, 1 of which never came and it was too late to even resolve because they had charged it in their system the 4 days prior that it had occurred That was disappointing. The new years eve we celebrated at the hotel was good except music didn't suite the ambiance, and they ran out of Don julio tequila and the manager didn't want to replenish so that ducked cause I wanted to enjoy the night with a good quality versus the 1800 that was already spoiled. Oh and you might be better off searching for activities yourself if you like to look on the day of or day before as I waited over 3 hours for the hotel activity planner and never heard from him until i saw him later in person when i was inquiring about horse back rides. He did apologize and i understand i could have booked ahead..but i never do because its based on the weather that day and my toddler. I'm glad for the service some of the employees provided, more so Chris, Sharise, and Josue because even though some things were out of their control, they tried to ensure we could make the most of it. I would have remembered other employees but noone where's a name tag and I had to ask for people's names. We stayed in the Ginger suite so good for a couple or small family. I probably will not return to this hotel as it was not worth the value for me, but I hope the general manager gets better at managing as I think that would help the hotel be more successful. Never heard from him with any issues we had or even a resolution, but maybe there weren't...

5-Star Review for Luna Beach Resort, Roatan My Husband and I recently spent 12 unforgettable days at Luna Beach Resort Roatan, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Only minutes after we arrived at the airport, we were welcomed with warm hospitality by Homer and felt right at home. The island and the property are nothing short of breathtaking – peaceful, secluded, and incredibly romantic. It was the perfect place for us to unwind and reconnect, with the stunning beach just steps away and the lush tropical surroundings offering serenity at every turn.

A special thank you to Juan, the front desk manager, who made sure all of our requests were met with a smile. He would make it a point to find us each day and ask how we are doing and inquire as to what he can do to make things more memorable. His attention to detail and genuine care for the guests set the tone for our stay. He would come to our room each night with the turndown service and leave a hand written note. The bar staff, especially Kevin (who goes by Lolo), how he greeted us every day by name, always smiling, always happy, and Stacy and Emilna, that would share stories about their lives and family, they all made our days and evenings by the beach and pool even more special. There was something amazing about how they would serve their expertly crafted cocktails and friendly conversation. The restaurant servers, Chiki, Saidh, and the young lady expecting her first baby boy (I sorry, but I cannot remember her name), made each meal feel like a fine dining experience even if we were just sitting at the bar, always recommending the best dishes and going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The staff all going the extra mile by setting up a romantic beach dinner for just my wife and I, the arrangement for having a special Chef’s Dinner with the chef coming to our table and explaining how each of our selections are prepared.

Our housekeeper, Dilica, kept our room spotless and always paid close attention to how we liked our room and our normal activity schedule so she could take care of thing only when we would not need access to the room. She did this with always having a smile on her faces. And we can't forget Norman, the security guard, whose quiet, reassuring presence made us feel completely safe during our entire stay. Tanya at the coffee bar was truly amazing! She made sure to get our breakfast quick as she knew we were always running late for our scuba diving each morning. I also want to mention Alex at Blue Moon Dive Shop. She is amazing and completely spoiled us. Everything from taking care of all of our gear to showing us the very best dive sites. So many amazing reefs just a few minutes away from the beach. I know Blue Moon is not part of the resort, but it is on the property and every bit as much of a luxurious experience as the resort. I know that I am forgetting to mention so many people, so Luna staff, please forgive me. Also please forgive me if I miss spelled any names.

Luna Beach Resort is truly a hidden gem – the ideal destination for couples looking for a romantic, peaceful getaway. We can’t wait to return to this paradise in the near future!

Thank you to everyone at Luna Beach for letting us be your friend and making this trip...

Short version: Don’t hesitate to book your stay at Luna Beach Roatan- you are absolutely guaranteed a wonderful and stress free vacation! Our whole stay at Luna Beach Roatan was fantastic- from the welcome drinks when we arrived to the seamless airport transport when it was sadly time to leave. We stayed in Villa Rossa, which was absolutely beautiful. We had seven people in our group and we probably could have fit another 3-4 very comfortably. So many amenities were provided- we had everything we needed. The best part of Hotel Luna Beach, however, is the staff. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Auri, Carlos, and Israel. They absolutely made our vacation and were incredibly warm & welcoming. The location is amazing- we had the pleasure of watching several beautiful sunsets throughout our trip. Made even better by piña coladas from the bar! One of the great things about Luna Beach is that you can make the most of a day spent by the pool/beach, but that town is also so close so there is plenty of opportunity to wander and explore. Walking to town is super simple (10-15 minutes if you take the beach!) and water taxis are easily & readily available if needed. The food options at the bar were fantastic- loved the fish aguachile especially the in-house made hot sauce. The tuna tartar was also absolutely fantastic. We didn’t have the chance to do many excursions with Luna Beach while we were there, but two of us did a horseback ride which I also highly recommend. The fine dining (Chef’s Table) seems to have some small kinks to work out- which makes sense because it seems to be somewhat new and they don’t serve dinner there frequently. I’m sure, with some time, they will find their groove. The food there was fantastic! Lastly, if you are hesitant about traveling to Roatan, don’t be! The beaches and snorkeling were beautiful, the local food is fantastic, and the people are so warm and friendly. I love to try and travel to as many places as I can and it will be hard to not just want to return to Roatan. I can’t recommend it enough. 😊

This was the second time we, as a group, have stayed in Roatan but the first time at Luna Beach. We rented the Poco Loco house and had 6 adults and 4 kids. Upon check in we were given a nice tour of the small resort and a welcome drink. The house is a bit of a walk up stone stairs but nothing too difficult (my 75 year old parents climbed it pretty easily). I would say about 30 steps or so. We found the house to be pretty newly built and clean. Nice open floor plan with good natural lighting. 1 full bath and half bath downstairs and one full bath upstairs. The kids loved the bunk room as they were built into the wall with curtains and a full size bed that offered them some privacy. The other rooms were nice with comfortable king beds and ac units. The resort was pretty nice and taken care of. Bar was good but the mixed drinks weren’t anything to write home about, honestly. We found much better drinks out and about the nearby town of West End. The food though, pretty darn good. You won’t do much better outside of hotel. It was probably our favorite part of the whole hotel. It is an easy 15 walk into the heart of West End. Shout out to Darlon, at the bar. By far, our favorite person at the whole resort. Also, all of the staff were friendly and trying their best to make your stay memorable. A few complaints: It was a full on battle trying to get towels, both for our house and for the beach. At such a small resort why make us keep towel cards? As for the house, much worse. We were there a week with 10 people and they would not bring us clean bath towels. Also, even though it says housekeeping is included, it was not, for us anyway. We are not needy people, all we were asking for was 1 cleaning of our house midweek and 1 change of all towels, but we got neither. That was our biggest complaint and everything else was really great. If you plan on going and staying at one of their houses, keep the above information in mind.

Our spirits were down when we landed becuse of some air and weather trouble, but once we stepped out of customs we were greated by the most optimistic, coolest, and exciting person in Roatan.. DARLON!! He rejuvenated our spirit and gave us a spectacular tour on our ride from the airport, around the city, and back to the airport. The resort is a dream (we stayed for a week and wished we couldve stayed longer). I was quite skeptical becuase we chose Roatan and Luna Beach Resort as our honeymoon on a whim, not really knowing too much about Honduras. Upon our entry, the staff completely blew the intimidation and skepticism into the sea! JUAN made sure we were comfortable and worry free for our entire stay! JUAN is the MAN! Who could ever say they went to a resort and met the owners.. WE CAN!! Richie and Jody were the hostest with the mostest and we are so glad to have met such a fun power couple on our honeymoon! The kitchen pushed out some of the best food we had while exploring Roatan. Definitley try the pulled pork sandwich and have LOLO ( a great bartender in the making) mix you up a sex on the beach! The pastry chef made the best chocolate cake I have ever had, and I don't even eat cake! The room was just as pictured online, but to see it in person is jaw dropping. The bed was EXTRA comfy, the water was heated, the air conditioner was cooling, and the space was cleaned to perfection everyday (or anytime we asked). Thats all and more than what we couldve asked for. The location was very convenient ( 10 minute walk to West End and 10 minute water taxi to West Bay). If you are a couple wanting a private get away this resort is your best option! If we could give Luna Beach more than 5 stars we would. It was the best decision we made through the whole wedding process.
