We booked an apartment on booking and, as per Hungarian regulations, we were required to provide our personal information. The host on Booking asked for our details, claiming he would handle the paperwork for us. We provided the requested information, but in the end, we had to fill out the forms ourselves. This raised concerns about why the host asked for our details in the first place if he wasn't going to use them as promised.
Additionally, there is no proper ventilation in the apartment. Even with the window open, it's stuffy and uncomfortable to stay in the space, and I can't imagine how unbearable it must be during the summer. Moreover, smoking is allowed on the premises, and the smell easily seeps into the apartment, making it impossible to escape due to the lack of ventilation.
Another issue was that workers came in the morning without any prior warning and started making a lot of noise, cutting metal, which was incredibly disruptive. We were never informed that such work would be happening.
The apartment itself is also in poor condition. The bathroom door handle came off when I tried to open it, the metal framing on the showerhead fell apart, and when I went to open the curtain, the rod holding it simply fell down.
Additionally, the Wi-Fi barely works. The connection keeps dropping, and mobile internet reception is non-existent—there's no signal at all.
Finally, the overall cleanliness of the apartment was questionable. The fridge was dirty, the dishes provided were also unclean, and the carpet was...
