Calgary Antik Drinkbar — Restaurant in Budapest

OMG. This place was the highlight of our holiday. I wish we had found it sooner than we did. This quirky little bar is tucked away down a little side street and if you blinked you'd miss it. Run by a gorgeous lady called Viki who is well in her 70s and can't speak a word of English! It's a tiny place filled with all manner of stuff, a little bit of a hoarders paradise!! Viki was a model in her younger years and she loves showing you all her old photos! She sleeps on the couch in the pub during the day and opens in the evening and stays open til 4 or 5 o'clock. Shes well looked after by her friends who are regular customers. She has a dog and cat that she rescued and plenty of story's to tell. I'm definitely going back to her place. Definitely...

Végre! Bejutottunk. A kanadai juharfalevéllel megjelölt budai legendába, ahol a Pilsner Urquell fényreklám is csak egy antik díszlet, mert jó sör itt nincs, csak a leghitványabb dobozosok, viszont minden más jutalomjáték a további érzékeknek. Annyi itt a csecse Vicky primadonna becse, hogy jaj, napestig tartó rácsodálkozás és véget nem érő történet a jussa, aki ezek kapcsán kérdez. Igazából elképzelhetetlen az egész. Mindent elolvastam előzetesen róla, és mégis megdöbbentett a valóság. Egy egész élet nyomai érhetők tetten itt pár négyzetméteren. Mintha egy kis garzonlakás lenne, ahova meghívtak vendégségbe - bocs a rendetlenségért, nem számítottam rátok -, de üljetek csak le, feltéve, hogy találtok helyet. Ehhez idő kell és empátia! Nem egy haverokkal beülős sztori.
