Hock Residence by Vagabond — Hotel in Budapest

Very disappointing stay. I strongly do not recommend this place!

My stay at these apartments was a complete disappointment. First of all, the management shows total indifference. There is no staff on-site, everything is handled remotely, and in reality, no one takes responsibility for what happens. In my case, a loud, drunk group of guests made noise the entire night — shouting, loud music, constantly walking around the corridors. I was only able to fall asleep in the early morning. The administration completely ignored the problem and did nothing to intervene effectively. The service level is also unacceptable: — The kettle was broken, and I had to wait two days for a replacement. — No capsules were provided for the washing machine. I was told to buy them myself, which is extremely disrespectful to guests. In good serviced apartments, such basic items are always included. The website states that this property has 4 stars, but on-site it says 3. Based on my experience, this place does not even deserve 2 stars. The administration only offers empty apologies and a late check-out until 12:00 as a "gesture of goodwill" instead of providing real compensation or taking responsibility. If you don’t want to ruin your trip and waste your money, I strongly advise you to choose a different place. Your comfort and peace clearly do not matter...

Loved this place! Great value, great location, and a well-equipped apartment — washing machine, dishwasher, comfy vibes. Everything was clean and ready, so major points for that! 👏

A few quirks, though — because no holiday is complete without a little character, right?

🚗 Garage mystery of the year: The electric charger was out of service, and apparently the key to fix it is locked away in another dimension. Maybe next year the staff will discover it like a hidden treasure.

🌡️ Climate control (or not): Even though the apartment had a thermostat, we started to suspect that the building itself was deciding when (or if) the air conditioning worked. My poor Canadian husband was slowly melting — he came from snow, not sauna. 🫠

BUT! Even with the heat and the mystery charger, we’re definitely coming back. That’s how...

The room itself was lovely, but we had issues accessing the room due to it requiring a code to enter the building, as well as access keys for keycards and we had not been given anything ahead of time or any confirmation of stay. The heating was on full blast and the room was 29 degrees and when contacted for help in fixing this, was ignored. we had to sleep with the balcony door open to attempt to cool the room down. The property is also atleast a 20 minute walk to anywhere, nothing nearby. 50 minutes walk to any of the tourist spots! Didnt feel safe in the area, wouldn’t recommend for solo...
