I am on holiday in Budapest for a week and stumbled across this restaurant, which at first glance is amazing. We visited here a few times which was impressive to say the least. But the most recent service from the waiters and the manager was one of the worst I've seen in Europe and I've visited quite a few terrible places in my time travelling. We were a table of 4, the order was a few orders of mojitos and some nutella pancakes, there 2 separate orders of nutella pancakes, which both came on the same plate and without our knowledge, that this was the case, (we thought it came 2 pancakes a portion as we weren't told any different), so after roughly 10 minutes when another plate of pancakes did not arrive, I questioned the situation. To which, I was told about the above stated issue. So we had decided we will not pay the service charge, which I asked the waiter to remove (stating it was compulsory to pay the service charge), which he then sent a manager, we explained the situation both in English and Hungarian (as to make it clear), then the manager stated that it was our fault as we did not explain to the waiter that we wanted it separately, unbeknown to us that it came as 1 pancake per portion, so not only do I have to explain to the waiter how to do his job, I might aswell of gone in the kitchen and made my food myself as implied by the manager. Please tell me this is not normal in Hungary? And yet this place is really busy, but half of the service team are incompetent and lack the basic knowledge of communication whether in Hungarian or English, nor the common sense to see what is wrong with the situation that occurred.

However, my return visit on Thursday evening ( Nov 1) left me with a vastly different impression. I was attended to by a server named Gabor (I apologize if Iāve misspelled his name), and unfortunately, his service was far from satisfactory. His attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, and I was met with a level of rudeness that I did not expect from your establishment.
Despite the disappointing service, I must commend the kitchen for maintaining the high standard of food quality that I experienced during my first visit. The consistency in the culinary aspect of your restaurant is truly commendable.
I believe that it is crucial for management to be aware of both exemplary and subpar service. While my initial experience with Tomas was outstanding, my interaction with Gabor was one of the worst service encounters I have ever had.
I hope that this feedback will be taken into consideration and that appropriate steps will be taken to address the issue. I have always held your restaurant in high regard, and I believe that it has the potential to provide exceptional dining experiences to all its patrons.

In a nutshell: food is solid and waiters are inattentive. In one of three cases a waiter was friendly. Three times I was waiting way too long: 1) for orders, food and payment; it wasn't busy; I complained, weak excuses. 2) ordered take away, emphasized that I am really in a hurry and till when I have time, waiter promised 20min, I was waiting 40min (10 above my "deadline"). 3) yesterday night I came with my gf; I directly asked, if the kitchen is still open; four or five waiters at the bar noticed us, it wasn't busy, no one came for the menu, I even raised my hand a couple of times; they did not even looked at us, waiters were more busy watching a mma fight on tv and talk to each other; went after more than 15min of waiting, passed all waiters, no one even said anything. Whether me nor my gf made such a disrespectful experience before. Conclusion: not again! Potentially a good place, if waiters would do their job and be more friendly.
