Crown Restaurant and Guesthouse — Hotel in Keszthelyi járás

Just know that the toilet in room 6 doesn’t work and you have to take off the lid to flush it and then reposition some things inside the water tank. Very unpleasant. When we signaled this to the staff, they just came it and told us that we didn’t know how to flush a toilet, we “flushed too harshly”, locked up and left the hotel, so we had to figure it out ourselves.

Also, when the restaurant is open the smell of food fills up the entire room. It always smelled like fries and meat.

As for the restaurant, the food is overpriced and boring. The salads look old and are not that tasty. Wouldn’t recommend. The lady who served us breakfast was very rude and couldn’t speak any English, so when we asked her about anything she would just complain how she doesn’f know English and would walk away.. Be VERY careful with the breakfast. The scrambled eggs were partially raw and sticky. The cheese had mold on it and when we told the lady serving breakfast she said it was normal. After two days they cut the molded cheese and served it again for breakfast.

On the day of our checkout, I went to ask her to make us some fried eggs, but she told me we had ten minutes till “room out” or evacuation.

Overall, very unpleasant experience. It felt like we were part of a very badly written play. I think it is safe to say that we will not be coming back...

THE WORST RESTAURANT WE HAVE BEEN IN HUNGARY. BEWARE!

We should have been warned by the impolite welcome of the waitress, who, when we asked " good evening, do you have a table for two?" Just replied with an aggressive "sit down.".

Starters: we ordered "sirloin carpaccio, with green apple, pumpkin seed oil and basil pesto" - Reality: a few frozen slices of steak just taken out of the freezer and cut -they didn't even bother to throw away the first part that was - obviously rotten - without any salt, oil or any kind of seasoning, all served with a lot of old, untasty apple cubes. Basil pesto was missing.

Also, do not order "grilled Jersey cheese with almond, endive salad with apple and peer" - a peace of pan fried cheese (somehow cold too) on a bed of fruit salad.

Main course: "Korona mixed dish - chicken rolled in Black Forest ham, whole roasted pork tenderloin, roasted goose, potato and CRUNCHY vegetables" Reality: It was a gathering of old, boiled (definitely NOT grilled! ) and re-warmed pieces of undefined meat- not sure witch was the goose and witch the pork- served with a mix of what once were frozen vegetables (probably from the local discount),only this one for the cost of 6.000 HUF.

As far, the worst resturant in the region. We left...

This place is like an island of peace and happiness. The rooms are spacious, we are always remembered by the staff, and they are always very kind.||After escaping from Hotel Aquamarin (see my other review), although we wanted a hotel with swimming pool, we remembered "good old" Korona! And thank heavens! We just stopped to ask if they have a room for three nights over the holiday period and they shifted around reservations to be able to give us the room we always take.||Nice spacious terrace, clean and airy bath room, nice wardrobe, newly refurbished, cleaning ladies very gentle.||||Well, the restaurant and breakfast are yummy and a lot actually. You can just walk to the lake and after a tiring day of swimming, you can just relax in the restaurant (the ladies cooking are all living nearby and the smell of food is very invigorating early in the morning outside the kitchen).||||You can come and go whenever you want as they give you a key to the gate and the back door.||||We will come back surely...
