Only the location was nice, it was near to the Railway station and airport. Property had a nice lush green garden, and a vast in-house parking facility. Lobby area has a good sized aquarium which is a plus for families travelling with kids. Dinner/Lunch options are okish and food is affordable.

Dislikes

Hotel is old, filthy, zero-maintenance, gloomy, dark, sparsely lighted. Hotel has only 3 floors, rooms on the 1st floor are gloomy/dark and doesnt have a view from the window. The furniture is old and is low on maintenance, sparsely lighted. We didn't like the room at first place and had to opt for a room on the 2nd floor which had a better view. (not to forget it was costly and had to pay a price difference). Room on the 1st floor had unhygienic linen and stains on the bed sheet. Rooms are central air-conditioned and there is no temperature regulation in the room, all you have is a switch to control (on/off). Room was full of pests and insects, the window had gaps in the joints which allowed insects to barge in, very unsafe for kids. Bathroom was okish, but had a bad drainage system, the water would flow back in the room which was so messy and untidy. Hotel has only one lift which is so old that it needs attention, the lift is so slow that one can reach their destination quicker if the stairs are taken :) The washrooms in the lobby area would resemble that of any railway station or a public convenience, the women's one had lizards roaming around and had unhygienic scenes. Lobby area doesn't have the air-conditioning running. Only you will see a huge pedestal fan running all the time. With such a huge seating area, you are bound to sweat out if you don't sit near the pedestal fan. No power backup. There were too frequent power cuts and it was getting inconvenient to operate the geyser & hot jug. The air-conditioning switched off time and again. The total cost paid for the room on 2nd floor costed approx Rs. 4000/- (per night) which was at all not worth. There were newer properties which were offering breakfast as well as suite accommodation...

The hotel is located so strategically and being one of the oldest in the city, you would imagine the rooms and interiors would be well maintained. But sadly the overall maintenance and upkeep leaves a lot to be desired. Electric, plumbing, beds and furniture all have a dilapidated and aged look and appear like they needed an overhaul a long time ago. Even the morning breakfast had very little choice. Quality of food was okay. Also must say, didn't face any issue with service as the room service and cleaning...
