The Fern Residency - Rajarhat, Kolkata — Hotel in Bidhannagar

First time ever seen a hotel which claims to be "3 star", their staffs are not properly trained only how to behave in front of the guests, to be honest this hotel doesn't have any star quality. C/in time being 2pm, we arrived the hotel at 1:45pm, still we have to wait for the room.(inspite of informing them prior, the time of our arrival,) Inspite of requesting for a higher floor room, we got the room in the same floor as the reception. We have been provided a corner-most room, and that too right beside the public restroom. The room had a very musty smell, to add on to that. The most disgusting feeling that I felt was the "typical judgemental behaviour" of the staffs, especially in the reception. When you call it a couple friendly hotel and also you claim yourself to be a star property, maintain a better behaviour with all the guests, don't discriminate. In the breakfast buffet there was one lady employee who very warmly wished us 'good morning' and welcomed us, when I told her my room no, another girl literally came running from the reception and told the girl to check whether I had said truth, and I "really" have breakfast as a part of my package or not. She didn't care whether we have hear that or not.. Come on!! No one expects that kind of ill mannered behaviour towards any guest in a "star" property. Upon C/out we had to wait so that the employee can literally check the room and "approve" us to leave, is it a high end hotel or a random road side hotel??? Been to so many properties, didn't ever come across to such a disgusting service and stay!!!! Absolutely worst!!! This was the first and last time I visited this The Fern Residency hotel, not gonna be there again in my entire life.. And absolutely not at all recommended!! The only thing that was good was the In room Dining food quality and the service of two employees there, one lady, the name I don't know, and one gentleman, most probably named Pintoo.. I went for lunch buffet there, to their restaurant i.e. XII Zodiac

Restaurant is on 2 nd floor

The moment I enter the restaurant the manager reached to me and welcomed me with warm greeting and welcome drink which was coca cola😂

They offered me a sofa as I told i would like to have a cushioned seat

Soon they started serving starters

golden fried corn chili fish fish fry round fried potato paneer tikka tandoori chicken chicken tikka

They happily served starter and was very quick and friendly

The mains section was just behind the sitting section

ghee rice veg curry dal paneer masala gujrati veg noodles veg gravy in Chinese sauce fish masala chicken ( only one item) dry veg mutton biryani Though mutton biryani is not kept outside You need to order for the mutton biryani but it's included in buffet

Mutton biryani is really good The smell was just amazing and taste was too good

The desert section has very limited options but all are tasty

kaju barfi kaju katli pastry fruit custard chocolate mud payesh coconut desert

Chocolate mud is really good and fruit custard is nice too

This place is worth trying and you will have a great experience

The lunch buffet costs 599 per person I bought it for 569 @ nearbuy
