broken facilities and misleading advertisements to outright harassment of guests—including an elderly lady—this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever faced. I strongly advise others not to stay here. One of the rooms had a washroom lock that never worked, and despite repeated complaints, neither repairs were carried out nor was a room change offered. Room service was equally frustrating—our calls went unanswered most of the time, and responses came only after several attempts, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this level.
Basic amenities were also a problem. There was no round-the-clock hot water, and in the morning there was none at all, forcing one of our guests to bathe in cold water and fall ill. The excuse given about a “central boiler system” is simply not acceptable in a large chain hotel.
The most distressing incident was related to our 80-year-old grandmother, who had recently met with an accident and needed a wheelchair. While Mr. Sagar initially provided one without mentioning any charges, later the staff demanded an unreasonably high rental fee—almost equal to buying a new wheelchair. Shockingly, when we returned from an outing, the hotel refused to hand over our room keys for more than an hour until we agreed to pay, leaving our elderly guest waiting uncomfortably in the lobby. When we escalated the matter, the manager, Mr. Shoyale, rudely told us “Jo karna hai kar lo” (“Do whatever you want”) and falsely accused us of “forcefully taking” the wheelchair, which was completely untrue. We even suggested checking the CCTV to confirm how politely we had requested it.
On top of this, despite having fully prepaid for a 2-night stay, the staff repeatedly called us—at least 8–9 times—insisting we check out after just 1 night. Only after we showed proof of our booking did they admit their mistake. The hotel also failed to honor the 10% discount on taxi services clearly mentioned in our voucher, refusing to provide even a proper number or estimate.
There were multiple other issues as well: the hotel advertises a swimming pool online, but in reality, there isn’t one—pure misrepresentation. The napkin placed in the room was dirty, and after we used it, we were charged for it. If it was meant to be decorative, why put it in the room at all? And if it was for guest use, why charge extra?
The overall attitude of the staff was the worst part. The receptionists, especially Mr. Monaj, were consistently rude, arrogant, and uncooperative. Throughout the stay, there was no courtesy, no professionalism, and absolutely no sense of...

We recently enjoyed a stay at the Regenta Inn Larica in Chinar Park, and wanted to share our positive experience. Here are some of the highlights:
Great Location: The hotel's proximity to the airport was fantastic, especially if you're catching an early flight. It also seemed conveniently located to other parts of the city, though we didn't have a chance to explore extensively ourselves.
Comfortable Rooms: Our room was spacious and clean, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Friendly Staff: The staff at Regenta Inn Larica were friendly and helpful especially Mr. Subhamoy, always willing to answer questions and assist with any requests.
Dining Options: We enjoyed the breakfast that was included with our stay. The hotel also has two restaurants, offering a variety of cuisine, which we weren't able to try but might be a good option for future guests.
Additional Points to Consider:
While we had a positive experience, it can be helpful for potential guests to consider a few things:
Guest Reviews: Some online reviews mention occasional issues with cleanliness and maintenance. It might be worth checking some recent reviews to get a broader sense of current guest experiences.
Amenities: The hotel offers a rooftop pool, which might be a perk for some travelers. However, a few reviews mention concerns about the cleanliness of the pool, so it might be good to manage expectations there.
Overall, we had a comfortable and convenient stay at the Regenta Inn Larica. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location make it a solid option for travelers looking for a good value hotel in Kolkata, especially near...
Read more0 Star Experience – Worst Hotel Ever (Regenta Inn Larica, Kolkata) I had one of the worst experiences ever with this hotel, — The name says “Among the best hotels in Kolkata”, but in reality, it’s among the WORST. We had booked 3 rooms for 3 days, only to face: Worst room service Worst cleanliness Worst hospitality On the very first day, my 80-year-old grandmother got injured accidentally. There was wheelchair in hotel. We did asked Hotel owner or manager can we get wheel chair? The hotel owner initially gave it to us (we assumed out of courtesy or at most with a nominal rental). We never asked to buy it, just to use it for two days so my grandmother could move around comfortably. But when we returned, the hotel manager demanded ₹2000 for using that wheelchair — which, by the way, is worth only around ₹1300. Not just that, they refused to give us our room keys until we paid this unfair amount! We asked to at least give one key so my grandmother could rest while we sorted it out — but they rudely refused, showing no kindness or humanity. This is outright exploitation and harassment of guests. 👉 Highlights of my family’s stay: Terrible service and management No empathy or basic decency Unhygienic rooms Staff only concerned about extracting money This hotel deserves 0 stars. Please look at the recent reviews — mostly 1-star, and rightly so. I have already reported this matter to the consumer court and strongly believe action should be taken to investigate and ban such unethical hotels. ⚠️ My advice: Boycott this hotel. Do not book here, especially if you are traveling with...
