Had hosted my daughter's bday party a week back here ..My impression of Vijay Park Inn has always been good as I've walked in their buffet with family many at times and have had their yummy food at affordable prices. With that thought in mind I had enquired over phone for banquet hall with buffet.. during enquiry d staff were polite over phone but wen v visited d hotel to c d venue n discuss the buffet the manager's approach was very rude...our requirement was to host a small family group of 40 ppl. Wen discussing about food while we were checking for better customisation for the said rate d manager was very rude n commented that for 40 ppl n all he cannot suggest much n even for 100 ppl they don't consider much. I'm sure d hotel must have trained d staffs on being courteous n polite n to treat every customer n d best way..but the said manager who was d only person responsible for banquet hall seemed to be very rude..I didn't want to proceed further with them but after seeing their roof top banquet hall I was happy with the ambience nd decided to proceed ignoring the manager's rudeness. On the day of the event the following were d issues nd v were baffled by the unresponsiveness, lethargic n irresponsible attitude of the staff including their manager. Welcome drink was not served on time nd every time a guest came v had to run to d buffet serving area n convey atleast 10 times only then 1 staff will come n serve welcome drink. This was happening always n wen conveyed to manager he was least bothered. They could have very well kept d welcome drink on table at entrance so that the guests could have had themselves. Instead they were serving wen asked for. This being weird wen v went to serving area to chk v saw the serving staff having d welcome drink nd hence they didn't serve the guests properly. The same was d case with food..despite telling d staff to be ready for serving food after cake cutting still the serving boys didn't turn up for quite a long time and v ended up serving the soup to guests ourselves till their presence. Being an established hotel it's a basic requirement to display the food item name in buffet as both veg & non veg food were there and in a group ppl tend to have their own veg/ non veg preferences. Veg ppl were confused on which to take/ not take as there was no display. Again v had to run around briefing d menu to all. Quality of food served in banquet buffet was not as good as their walk in buffet at restaurant. At last wen d dinner was getting over almost, the staff in d presence of manager started taking away d best dishes immediately for their consumption without even waiting for the event to get over. 6.The staff were focused only in taking away d balance food. Everything happened with d knowledge of the manager n he was least bothered with d same attitude. From the toilet area foul smell was emanating which clearly showed that they hadn't cleaned the place properly before the event. For family dining our go to place has always been Vijay Park Inn but after this experience i would never ever visit them again nd i would strongly not recommend anyone to host their party there unless otherwise they find the manager to be decent transparent n courteous. Only positive feedback is that the ambience of the roof top banquet hall was excellent especially with lighting.Hope the management takes corrective action to value n retain...
Read moreI had made the booking on 11-Dec-2023 for a stay from 20-Jan-2024 through a very well known OTA partner. I also received a message from the partner stating that "A reconfirmation call is not required".
However, to my utter surprise, few mins before checkin time - I got a call from the property that there are no rooms available. The reason they had called out was that the partner did not confirm the booking, and hence they have been fully booked.
The hospitality manager Mr Anand came on the line, and mentioned that they just got notified about this booking from the partner team. They were empathetic, but asked us to take a room in another facility for the first day, which was much lower in standards. And checkin into this hotel for the 2nd day of the trip. The transportation and logistics were all managed by ourselves. With the booking done for senior citizens, this kind of a mix-up communicated at 1:15pm for a 2pm check-in, leaving the customers high-and-dry in a new place was not a good experience.
The management was empathetic and took the initiative to arrange the alternate booking. But the primary reason for booking at Hotel Vijay Park Inn was the proximity to the event, and facilities. The alternate accomodation was farther and was also much cheaper. No complaints about the facilities at Hotel Vijay Park Inn, but these kind of booking mishaps between Partner-Hotel management is causing serious doubts if this can be a preferred route for family and elderly travellers, as there is always room for a last minute commotion.
We had to take the alternate booking, as there were no other options to figure out, especially as it came in the last hour. I have travelled with the partner several times and this has never happened. At the same time, I see that Hotel Vijay Park Inn was also overbooked and many had the same issue on 20-Jan-2024. So dont know where the problem was, but in the end we were short-changed for the trust we had with both parties.
The hotel hospitality team did their best, to salvage an already messed up situation. It was definitely not the experience...
Read moreI had booked an Executive Room. This was showing as 3 Star rated Hotel but the facilities were not even to a lodge. I had booked it through a travel portal and the cost was similar to 3 / 4 Star.||||Initially they gave me a room in 3rd Floor, the quality of the room / bed was so pathetic. It was stinking. I called the reception and asked whether this is executive room and they said they are cleaning the room and will shift me.||||Then they shifted me to 2nd floor, as i entered i was welcomed by cockroaches, sticking room with broken tiles and dusty bed etc. They said they dont have any other rooms. Seeing the condition i didnt want to have dinner there. So i went out for dinner and when i returned to room, i was shocked to see the bread of cockroaches all over the room, You open the draw, take the bedsheet, inside the pillow was all cockroaches. I spoke to reception saying to give me good room to sleep by 10pm. I was so tired, they said they would give me another room in 10 minutes. ||||Alternate room took 2 hours with multiple phone calls and fighting. It was 12 am i was given the Suite room after lots of drama. Thank god here the room was decent.||||Drawbacks of all the rooms||||1) Untidy Bedsheets / Towels||2) Only Kettle is available but no milk power / coffee / tea bags||3) Centrailsed AC with a remote. Remote can only switch off / Switch on the AC. You cannot control the temperate. It was average. Once your in bedsheet you would start sweating.||4) Fan was there but you cant control the speed||5) No Iron box / laundry services||||||Complimentary breakfast was also very average. I went to have breakfast by 9am, most of the items were empty. It took 15-20 minutes for items to come that too 2 - 3 nos. Hard Rock Idly, Oily Poori's, Stiff Pongal, something named vada.||||Only coffee / juice served was good.||||Overall i would say it was a very average stay and not even worth paying cost of...
