Best doctor with the worst admin team!!!!!! Had admitted my mother for knee replacement surgery in both the legs. Kindly find my genuine review and please have the patience to go thru the whole if you don't want this to be repeated for you.
Pros: Dr. Rex is most comfortable doctor a patient can ask for. He explains the medical issues in layman terms. He also gave a detailed explanation for the treatment he is going to give. Which actually is very helpful for a senior citizen like my mom.
Cons: Hospital administration is the biggest mistake here. They had explained that the total cost of the surgery will be 4.5 lakhs, which we had agreed. How ever they will not give you an itemized bill for the same.
Doctor had informed us that it will take 6 days from the date of surgery before being discharged.
Upon admission we wanted to see the room category which they will provide. They informed it will be standard single room .
We asked to see the room and if possible the next category. Upon seeing the rooms we had decided we will choose the higher category DLX room.
Room was almost the same size how ever it had Airco extra.
They provided room no 412 for the first day. Since we got delayed reaching the hospital (almost 21:30 hrs ) and by the time admission got over time was 23:00 hrs. We went to rest. To our suprise we had to pay deposit of 700 for AC and TV remote, which we did. The AC in the room did not work throughout the night. We were very tired, we did not want to go back in the night.
... Upon admission we had informed the hospital that we have transaction limit on the card for 1lakh per day, so we asked them if we can pay it by daily or to provide us with the bank details so we can do an RTGS. They informed that IP will speak to us in the morning.
Next day we went and complained on the same and requested for a room shift. They showed us room no 409, we agreed for the same. They informed us that once cleaning is done they will shift us.
Had asked the IP team for bank details as we had to add the beneficiary I bank to make such a transaction and it will take 24 hours to get approved. They said they did not have the details, and directed us to the cashier desk. When checked with them. They also refused that did not have the details and we need to check with manager. When asked the manager, they informed that it will not be provided without Md approval.
When asked when he will be available they said post 12:00 noon only.
This happed around 10 am. We waited till 12 noon for the room shifting , there was no response from them. When checked with the floor nurse they said we need to speak to the IP team.
When we approached them, they informed that deluxe room is not part of the package and we will need to pay the full DLX room charges as additional.
We questioned them saying how is it possible, if it is only standard room and we want an upgrade of the room they should charge us only the difference amount extra.
They said they will have to check it with the MD and get back. After waiting for 30 min they came back and agreed to us saying you can pay the difference of Rs 1100 per day.
Which we agreed. The second room they gave did not have a plastic chair and patient food table, when checked with the floor nurse, they informed that it is only available in DLX room. We said this was a room change only not a category change. Had to go back to the IP and sort it out.
Again they checked with their MD and brought us the table and chair. Since the bed was quite high for my mother we had requested for a stool or stand near the bed for her to get down, which took 60 min to...

About the hospital:
Good thing for the hospital is Rex will be the first hospital in the google search results if you search for the best ortho hospital in Coimbatore. Pretty sure they use paid promotions. @ google, please try to be a little honest. This I would say is the worst ever hospital. Hospital is still running on 90s. They think patients are beggars. People now a days need quality service. Not some pathetic patient kind of treatment. No value to the money we give. If you have 2+ hours to spend just for paying bills and waiting, please go ahead. And yea, forgot to say this. They have a very good entertainment system right at the reception. Each minute you can see nurses/receptionist/every other staffs fighting. A good show for the price you paid. Anyways lockdown, theatres are closed. Who doesn’t wish to see a live show.
Staffs : they are there for money just like everyone else. I won’t blame them. We are all working for money (some does with passion). But the problem in Rex is they are least bothered about their purpose. Why they are getting paid, they don’t really know. If you ask them something, they will make sure that you don’t ask the same question again or wouldn’t even dare to go back to them asking a question. I would call them the Rex army
Doctors : one two are pretty good. Rest of the doctors are ultimate disasters. They are like a night shift engineer who wants to just go back to his house and get a good sleep.
Payment : let me start with this note . Worst ever. They don’t accept any of the digital money They won’t accept cards. Even if they do, they will take commission or the card doesn’t work. Make sure you keep quite a number of fresh currency in you wallet before going there.
Insurance : Trust me you wouldn’t understand a single thing the insurance desk tells you. Desk is really unprofessional and doesn’t really know what they are conveying to the patients. They are fully automated by the way . Everything is done on papers. Please carry a good pen and be ready to hear all the unprofessional things they say. They say cashless is available to the insurance vendor. But if you go and ask them, they will tell you to pay In advance. They only have cashless with cash option (I don’t know what they mean by that) And the worst thing you wanna do is speaking with them. Never try calling them by phone, they will make sure you get frustrated and get a headache. They even cut your call while speaking. You can try calling back for the entire day. The last thing your gonna hear is the reception lady also start scolding you for telling her to connect to insurance department for multiple times . You get to experience headache twice now
Please don’t go to Rex. They will make you feel like they are not costly. But in the end, you will be paying more. Try some good hospitals like Ganga. Best in Coimbatore or even Tamil Nadu I would say. I moved out from Rex to d a surgery due to all these issues. I did in Ganga and it went quite well. Good...
Read moreI really had a terrible experience..Am not here to complain about the staffs or Dr's I feel-good only about them... but I feel the Management is money minded..There is no proper channel of communication and so many misleading information....Intially they told us one amount for surgery later on it has been tripled post they knew about we are opting for cashless.....Though it been cashless we paid 35k which been promised that they will refund post they got insurance amount....But they adjusted the bill value along with the money I paid by quoting higher value to the insurance so that they wil get 80 percent of the value and the amount which I paid also...when enquired about the same they are telling they will go by insurance company quotation not the actual bill value of the surgery..if you are going by cashless then u will have to pay the value quoted by insurance not the actual MedicAl bill ...Bcs they will tell you are insurance patient.. please don't give false information or mislead information..As per RBI rules they shouldn't charge for cr card payment but here they are charging around 2 percentage in pharmacy....people who are aware also paying ...No awareness ...Dr also helpless ..... Pathetic....Dr Sathish and other staffs are good.No advance facilities though in such modern advanced technology....so many things to be improved..Dr Rex sir should read those reviews and improve the Management....Kuppusamy Naidu is best in terms of...
