Snow Fantasy Coimbatore — Attraction in Central Zone

This is a place not to miss in Coimbatore. One can experience real snowfall and ice conditions in the heart of Coimbatore. They provide extra shoes ( rain boots actually), winter socks, gloves and a good jacket to withstand the cold for an hour. Except for the shoes, they work very well. The hard work put in getting in place set up and running it is quite evident. They maintain sub zero temperatures inside and you can get a feel of visiting an icy forest. There are also fake Arctic wolf, polar bear, penguins and even a dino. Some slides are there for kids to experience snow gliding. I loved all of this part. To add some party experience, there is also music and use of coloured laser lights. I did not like the music ( very loud music actually) and the lights. The music being too loud for families, especially kids. Coloured lights - reddish, greenish etc spoil the fun of the real (white) experience and spoil photographs to a good extent.

Staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. Maintaining a place like this in an orderly manner is not easy and they are doing a wonderful job.

If families with young kids are planning for a visit, then it is worth dressing up properly, especially a thick pant as you will spend an hour in sub-zero temperature and it is not easy for those who are doing this for the first time.

Another small tip - since the shoes are rain boots, ice tends to slip between the boot and the pant and when it touches skin, it melts and your feet will get wet and you will start feeling uncomfortable. Good idea is to tuck the boots under your pants, rather than the pant in your boot.

Quick Info: Ticket costs Rs 550 per adult and Rs 480 per children. Children below 5 years (not sure about the age) will have a free entry. Duration is for 1 hour. You will be provided with Winter coat, Rubber shoes, socks, Winter gloves. They have a cloak room area to keep your things, slippers etc and all these are inclusive in the ticket fare.

Absolute stunning experience. The place is maintained in -10 deg c (stated by them) absolutely frozen cold. First time I'm experiencing such a kind of temperature in life.. simply awful. Not just the frozen ice floor but snow fall is also created in the center area. The setup is so lively that you have snowman, penguins, polar bear, dinosaur replicas placed inside. Snow skiing equipment suitable for all age groups are placed inside so you can have ultimate fun.The place is designed not only for the kids but the adults can also enjoy. Couple of sliding games, rope bridge, DJ music, disco lights are all in place. A cafe is placed upstairs where you can have a coffee, tea or soup but unfortunately there was nothing available when I visited the cafe. The staffs are polite and friendly. There are professional cameraman available inside for the entire 1 hour where you can take photos and get the soft copy/portraits once you come outside (Additionally Chargeable- doesn't come along with ticket fare)
