Please consider this as ZERO star review.

Contrary to the positive reviews I read before booking, my stay at Bibhitaki Hostel was a major disappointment. The dorm we stayed in had mold on the ceiling, and the entire room smelled musty and damp, making it very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, in the evening, there were four frogs inside the room, which disrupted our stay and added to the unpleasantness.

While the manager stated that the frogs were harmless, that doesn’t automatically make their presence comfortable or acceptable. We understand that wet weather can attract frogs, but basic measures could have been taken to prevent their entry. Despite being certain that we did not leave the door open, the frogs still managed to get in. We had to stuff paper into the gaps in the main door ourselves just to get some rest. Although the staff removed the frogs initially, they made no effort to provide a permanent solution.

What added to the frustration was the fact that other guests who checked in later were offered a different dorm, showing that alternative options were available. Yet, despite raising our concerns and shortening our stay from five days to one, the staff did not offer us the chance to shift rooms, nor did they provide a refund for the unused days.

Before even arriving, the lack of communication was a red flag. The hostel didn’t respond to messages on Booking.com and failed to provide any answer via WhatsApp.

The dismissive attitude of the staff, lack of maintenance, and poor customer service made this stay incredibly disappointing. Please consider this review as zero stars. Unless the management makes significant improvements, I wouldn’t recommend...

Extremely disappointing Experience at Bibhitaki Hostel

My stay at Bibhitaki Hostel was a major disappointment. It was like we were expecting something good and got worse. There was mold in the ceiling and ants as well. When we first checked in our dorm they had cleaned the beds but still there were ants present in the bed and pillows when we informed them they at first did not even make it out how come there are ants then they just cleaned the beds again.

In the evening we saw frogs in our dorm when we opened the door. Those were big frogs and the staff removed those frogs but they took it very lightly saying it’s because of rains and they are harmless. But as a customer staying in your property is it not there responsibility to at least make sure they provide us a permanent solutions for this ? There was a gap in the door so they could have come in the night after we slept too. we had to stuff paper into the gaps in the main door ourselves just to get some rest.

And next day when we told the manager that we are thinking of checking out because of the incidents from yesterday he did not offer us any concrete solution or concern. He said we are in the territory of leopard and you should be in that sense thankful that these are only frogs. I don’t think that is even a valid comparison and even if that is the case as a customer if we are telling our problems about their service their argument was like this. It was really disappointing and u would not recommend anyone to stay there unless they do make changes in their management and...

Horrible place to stay. The air conditioned hostel doesn’t have a fan and cooling doesnt reach every place. The walls are painted grey and furniture is black that gives an unpleasant feel. There are no curtains, mats and floor is dirty. Washroom is poorly maintained. To top it all, management is absolutely arrogant and has complete disregard to customer service.

I had paid upfront for three days. However within two hours of stay, I couldn’t bear it. When I wanted to check out, they refused to refund even the rest two days cost. When I said I want to speak to someone in the management, the reception desk staff said the property is managed by them as the owner isn’t on site. After I kept insisting for 20 min, they finally gave the number of the owner cum manager. When I called, he emerged from the property. So, the staff saying he wasn’t on site was basically a lie. The management didn’t even bother to solve anything. He kept turning away and expressed absolute disinterest even when discussing. When I finally asked is it even ethical to charge for day 2&3, when I am checking out within 2 hours, he bluntly said that’s how his business is.

I checked out without a refund as I felt it’s better not to ruin the holiday by dealing with an unethical and arrogant management who cares nothing...

I originally booked the hostel for just three nights but ended up extending my stay to five because I felt so comfortable. I stayed in a dorm without air conditioning, which wasn’t an issue at all since each bed had its own fan. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially Loy, who made sure everyone was doing well. He recommended great places to visit and even showed us around when he had time. He also arranged a scooter for me, which was delivered directly to the hostel and picked up again when I was done. The attached restaurant was delicious! I highly recommend it, even if you’re not a guest at the hostel. You can rent towels, and they also offer a laundry service — just drop off your dirty clothes at the reception, and they’ll be returned clean and dry. The showers are hot, and all areas are cleaned daily.

I stayed at Bibhitaki for a while and it was truly an amazing & unique experience! First of all it's location is perfect - right in the middle of nature, only 10 min from the beach & around 15 min to the center of Palolem. Other than that you can always find someone to talk to & you can also have your own space. The hostel is such a beautiful place with wooden walls, outside area, lot's of plants & then the nice vegan café makes sure that you can always get something to eat or drink. The employees makes sure that you are okay and will help you if you need anything. Good luck with your stay & take care!
