I recently visited this place trust me the story behind how I ended up here is crazy and im gonna bore you guys with it.
It's been almost a year since I've turned vegan and it's really hard to get good food and food in general outside being a vegan ( the struggle is real ). I visited south goa for the first time recently and I was so freaking happy that almost every place had vegan options.
When walking one day on the roads of pololem I saw this cafe and something about it caught my eye and made me want to try it, on a 2 and a half day trip I couldn't on first day, the second day I went to another place near this one cause of everyone in my group, had a really really bad experience cause when asked for vegan food in this other place the owner straight out started talking ill about vegan people ( irony , they had good amount of vegan options... Cause that brought them business) the owner definitely lost respect and customer that day.
Thought of going to some other place and get something, the other place I had in mind was cantine indiiane but by the time I reached they closed. ( I did get food that night).
The third day it was pouring in Goa , we checked out from Airbnb and were searching for a place to eat , our friend group found a place to eat in the same locality, we went there it was nice and cozy, ordered food and it almost 1 and half our to get our food, even then they didn't bring our complete order, being annoyed and hungry we cancelled our other orders and started eating what we got ( the food was genuinely not good), sadly the vegan food I ordered didn't come and the food that we got weren't vegan.
It was around 3pm and didn't eat anything in the morning, then I immediately remembered this place cantine indiiane, I went there while some members of our group started the journey back to our place , 1 car stayed with me cause I was hungry and wanted food.
Finally I reach cantine indiiane, look at there menu and was genuinely so happy cause they had south India delicacies and being a south indian I was so happy , they even had pretty crazy innovative South Indian dishes. I ordered food, got it and the moment I ate I was almost in tears cause the food was so freaking good the taste was just too good. I made my friends try their sambar rice, dosai wrap Man they were amazing like freaking amazing.
I'm a huge dessert guy, and being a vegan here in India you have to compromise on a lot of desserts,
They suggested me try their Banana bread and was wondering what good could be there that they really wanted me to try it .
I ordered 1 and ate , believe me when I say that was the best and will be the best banana vegan cake I've ever tried, I ate 3 slices on a go and also tried their cashew milk hot chocolate and even that was amazing but for me their banan bread. Was just out of world.
I packed 2 because why not.
The staff , the chef's the owners everyone was so polite and welcoming they truly enjoyed what they were doing and had big warm smile .
i believe everything happens for a reason and you can only connect the dots backwards,
Thank you cantine indiiane , you guys genuinely made my trip memorable and I will definitely comeback try almost everything on your menu and will always recommend this place to everyone .
Whoever reading this please please please try their Banana bread, your tummy will thank you.
Couldn't take any pictures of the food cause I was focused on eating and enjoying it. Sorry if I not spelled your...

Read moreOkay, so where do I start from? The food, the ambience, the hospitality? I'll go with the hosts first, such lovely people!! Satish and Manol, of all the hosts we've come across, you guys are hands down the best, the warmest, the loveliest! Can't thank you and your team enough for the very kind hospitality❤. A one hundred percent vegetarian-vegan place to eat, these guys grow a few vegetables, greens, mushrooms in the plot next to the cafe(sorry, cantine😁). I was really impressed with this👌. We tried their dosa, medu vada, poi pocket, cfc wings, lemongrass cooler- I would give a 100/100 to each one of these, not a single mark lesser than that! When I asked them if they served soups, they didn't have any on their menu, but offered us a glass of rasam, which tasted absolutely heavenly..just like how typical tamil moms prepare😋 For us,it always felt like eating at home..that's why I'd choose to say their food was for our soul😇. When they(the hosts) got to know we were there for our anniversary lunch, within 2 minutes they surprised us with a super duper yummy banana bread(I think that's what it is called🙈),such a sweet gesture! This is how a business doesn't become a 'business'business but a very personal, warm thing. To sum it up, I'd say the two meals we had at your place,Satish and Manol, was a treat to our tastebuds, tummy and soul🙏🏻Thank you so much! Sending you and the entire team lots of love and good wishes ,would love to come...
