The worst e I have ever had - cosset this is message I desperately sent to booking.com
Request for a refund of at least 20 per cent ( agreed by the property) and not to incur charges.
On my arrival, the property was filthy, with layers of dust and grease that had not been cleaned for years. The state of the flat is in dire condition, early something you can call a holiday flat. I asked to clean it, and they mopped the floor. You can see the picture with broken furniture, grease, and dust ( which is hard to take a picture of), missing lightbulbs, sofa and bed stains that have been there for years and dangerous plugs which spark all the time. I am aware India is cheaper and still developing. Still, afterwards, I visited other properties, and I saw so much better properties for a much lower price. So this is just negligence and lack of care mixed with greediness. I am not familiar with Goa. Generally, I would have refused to pay. I would move out straight away, but I was a little taken aback by not being aware of my rights in this circumstance.
When I arrived, I was told that breakfast was not included, and it was a mistake by Booking.com; after asking for it, I gave up as it seemed I was being very fussy.
The internet did not work, and I could check if the property changed my credit card; once I realised they did not, I paid promptly by card.
On the third day, the water started to go and off, and for hours we did not have water, it carried on throughout our stay. The manager denies it saying we are just moaning.
By few days after being practically bullied by the manager, I decided to contact booking.com. ( please see full chat from 4th April attached ) this resulted in a string of chats where the customer service could not speak with the property, and I had to restart everything again every day. I wanted to be able to move out and get a refund for the remaining days. The manager kept telling us our requests were ludicrous, and she did not receive a call from booking.com, and she claimed she does not deal with booking.com, but she did not allow me to speak with Oyo directly.
In the meantime, the electricity started to go on off daily until he went off for 4 straight one day. There was a storm, but our building was the only one without electricity. The day after building work started, and we had not been able to sleep in the morning for days.
I was hoping to be able to cancel and move somewhere else. Finally, they agreed to give a refund and offered another OYO property. However, they never mentioned where this property might be, so obviously, I could not move there without having been given an address.
So I asked if I should cancel the booking. One of the booking.com agents said yes, I should, and not it seems I will incur a charge for cancellation instead of receiving a refund for a week of hell.
I have not been able to wash properly, not being able to cook, not have breakfast, and have to buy my internet in a dingy and dirty apartment. In contrast, I have been told I am fussy. I can cope with one of two faults in a property, but if you one does sum it all up, this is a holiday from hell! I am sorry, but I am here on holiday, and I spent the whole week every day trying to sort out this problem to move out! And the price of the apartment is not as low.
To resume. A squalid, dingy and unkept flat No breakfast No internet Unreliable electricity not available for hours Water occasional works at random times. Building work next door was not mentioned No communication Consider it all very pricy I had to deal with the unpleasant manager twice a day when she was available if she was in the mood to talk.
I would like to have a refund and not incur charges. I am leaving today without a refund as she refused to give it, but at least I can have a weekend of relaxation.
Please help me; I know that booking.com did their best, and if you notice my record track, I never complained about another property!
I am attaching pictures and the chat history.
Thank
And still waiting...
Read moreI wouldn't say bad experience but not so good either 1)Booked a room for a friend... He checked in at around after 3pm. so in day light we could find the place .. thanks to Google map ..but there is not a single board directing us towards the room ... For someone not knowing the local language it will be difficult to find oyo room 12036 otherwise. 2)Also when he checked in till he checked out the next day there was no one at the reception. The room boy who was sitting at the gate had to be called to check in and check out the room and for any other assistance. 3)when he checked in there was water kept at the kitchen counter . When he returned back the same night there was no water just a empty can .and as usual couldn't contact anyone for some water to drink.. especialy after going round searching for an hour to find this particular Oyo room at night tired He reached home to find no water or anything else as promised earlier... why do you guys display such amenities in your services if you are going to take it back from the room later.?? 4) the worst part of all was that the room curtains were dirty af.... There were literally condoms stuck to the curtains .. that means the curtains and also the bed sheets were not changed since ages...unfortunatelyy he didn't see them when he checked in so couldn't ask for a room change.. and when he returned that night and checked out the next morning there was no one to report it to. I would just advice Oyo 12036 to please check all the hygiene parameters and other necessities before checking in someone into the room .. I'm a local my friend was a tourist it's a off season no much bookings and the booking was done well in advance so there was ample time to check all...

The appartment was so spacious, great standard, warm/hot shower, fridge, tv, 2 bedrooms and one with king size bed, powerfull AC, well equiped kitchen at all and everything very clean (cleaned every day). The pool area was clean ,welcoming and very beautiful. We enjoyed every minute staying there. Close by is a nice supermarket, fruit stands, restaurants, bus stop and small shops where u can get everything u need. Its possible to rent scooters at the accomodation so everything is extremly well set up for a nice and calm/relaxing stay in valca. Thank you so much. Martin +...
