Stayed on 1st October'24. The overall experience was utterly disappointing. Upon check-in, no one asked us for water forget about refreshment at a brand like Taj, and the weather was excruciatingly hot. In India, the bare minimum expectation you could have with hotels with a brand value is the hospitality which Indians are known for, sadly, it was nowhere to be found in this hotel.
Room was average, have stayed in bigger and better rooms than this one, felt not worth the money. Picture in the room might make you think the room is big but it isn't. Room had distinctive ammonia smell around washroom which clearly told that it was not properly cleaned.
Breakfast area was chaotic. The space was less to accommodate so many guests during the peak hours, we had to wait outside the restaurant area for our turn even though part of the restaurant facing beach side was pretty empty. Chairs were dirty, either soaked with pool/beach water or covered in sand, had to request twice to get the chairs replaced. Breakfast table wasn't cleared properly, the jam bottles were kept half used, seems the staff was poorly trained to manage a busy time. Food was average, cinnamon buns like bakery products were heavily loaded with sugar, I mean i am paying luxury to receive luxury, not a below par motel kind of food or experience to be honest. Juice glasses got over and had to wait for quite a long time, multiple guests were waiting around the juice section and had to keep requesting to get those.
Later at night around 10.15, got a call from the reception being interrogated about when were we checking out tomorrow, what time is the flight, and if are extending stay in Goa with other multiple questions, it felt offensive and rude, and as if they were just looking to get rid of us. Calling guests at such a late night is no way a sign of professionalism and etiquettes, it felt you were being pushy. Staff clearly had no concern that guests were on vacation and they need privacy, calling at such an odd hour was least of their concern and the bottom most item in the their checklist of 'hospitality'.
Ice cube bucket which we requested in the room was brought without the tong, I mean, it felt like I was staying in a 1 or 2 star hotel, there was no class, no standard to be seen, whatsoever.
The view from the main reception deck was of-course the best view.
Overall, I would not want to visit Tag Aguada ever again. I have been to various properties of Taj but so far Aguada was the most disappointing and definitely not worth the money they quote or I was charged. An immense amount of training is needed to the staff to be able to provide a better hospitality and experience. I chose this property of Taj for a classy stay and experience but instead I got motel stay experience that i would want to erase off my memory. Its a shame how experiences change when the focus is not on people and providing a thoughtful experiences but on...

I brought my elderly parents...both senior citizens....to Taj Fort Aguada resort with fond memories from my previous visit. I had celebrated my birthday at this very resort last year and was deeply impressed by its ambience and hospitality. That experience stayed with me, which is why I chose to bring my parents, hoping to create similarly beautiful memories with them.
After having coffee at the resort cafe, I wanted to take my parents to the iconic private walkway that extends into the sea....an area I had accessed freely during my stay last year. This time, however, we were abruptly stopped by a security guard (whose name started with “N” but I couldn’t catch it). He flatly refused, saying, “No... ma'am. This access is only for in house guests.”
While I completely respect resort policies and rules, I humbly explained that my parents are elderly and since they already walked down till the gate..it would mean a lot to let them go from there..I even requested him to make an exception just this once, considering their age. He showed no humility and asked me to speak with the reception.
At the reception, I spoke with Mr. Rakesh and explained that since I had accessed the walkway last year as a guest, I mistakenly thought it would be open to those dining at the property as well. I assured him that had I known the access was restricted, I wouldn’t have requested it. But I still requested him, once again, just for the sake of my aging parents who were already there, hoping for that short walk.
To my deep disappointment, even he didn’t allow it. Instead, they offered us a car ride to the public entrance. However, the walkway from the public side was too far, the weather was drizzly, and the route was completely unsuitable for elderly visitors. Our entire evening was ruined.
I feel deeply saddened that a property of such repute and legacy showed no empathy toward senior citizens. Hospitality, at its heart, is about care and sadly, that was missing here.
Just a day earlier, I had taken my parents to the Grand Hyatt Goa, and the difference in warmth, attention, and compassion shown by their staff was remarkable. The team at Taj Fort Aguada could truly take a page from their book.
For a resort that prides itself on luxury and hospitality, it was extremely disappointing to be treated in such an impersonal and rule bound manner especially when it concerned senior citizens. I sincerely hope the management reflects on this and trains its staff to act with more humanity and sensitivity in such moments.
I live in Goa..n I keep visiting five star properties here...I will definitely recommend Grand Hyatt over taj...
