We booked 4 rooms at Blue Marina Beach Resort Baga via the Agoda app around 10 PM on 4th August for 10 adults, 3 children, and 1 infant. We assumed 4 rooms would be enough for our group, and in case of any issues or additional charges, we were more than willing to pay directly at the hotel.
We arrived at the property around 1:40 AM on 5th August, exhausted after a long journey with sleepy children and tired family members. Instead of receiving a warm welcome, the reception staff began arguing about an extra charge for 2 children (around 8 years old). To resolve it quickly and avoid further delay, I asked the receptionist to just tell us the total amount we needed to pay for our group. He said ₹3000, and we agreed without any further resistance, trusting that things were now sorted.
When my brother asked what facilities were included in our stay, the staff specifically told us breakfast was complimentary.
For documentation, we provided 6–7 Aadhaar cards, and on one form, we listed all names room-wise, covering every adult, child, and the infant. We signed the form and handed it in. At that moment, no one raised any concern about extra adults, and we were given the room keys without issue.
However, around 2:30 AM, after settling in, we called the reception to request water bottles in all rooms. To our surprise, the same staff member who had already cleared our payment came back saying we still needed to pay extra for 2 adults.
When we reminded him that we had already clearly mentioned our group size — 10 adults, 3 children, and 1 infant — and paid ₹3000 accordingly, his behavior suddenly shifted. He began making passive-aggressive and sarcastic remarks like, “I thought you were good people with good intentions.” This felt unnecessary and insulting, especially since we had been cooperative and transparent from the beginning.
What followed was even more disturbing — he said he would send someone to our rooms (or come himself) to count how many people were staying. It was late at night, our families were resting, and this kind of statement felt like a serious violation of privacy and hospitality. We had women, kids, and an infant with us — and the fact that a hotel staff member thought this approach was acceptable left us extremely uncomfortable and disappointed.
In the morning, we went for breakfast, and no staff member objected or said anything. But after finishing the meal, we were suddenly told that breakfast wasn’t included in our booking. This was yet another contradiction to what had been said earlier at check-in. Naturally, this led to another round of arguments.
In total, we stayed for barely 9 hours (from 2 AM to 11 AM), and during that short time, we had to deal with four separate arguments — all caused by miscommunication, lack of clarity, and highly unprofessional staff behavior.
Later, the General Manager stepped in. He was more polite and tried to calm the situation, which we appreciated. We even showed him a photo of the check-in form that clearly listed all our family members. He acknowledged that incorrect information had been given to us the night before. Yet, despite this, he asked us to pay an additional ₹2000, over and above the ₹3000 we had already paid.
At that point, we were frustrated. We told him that if we had known from the beginning, we would’ve simply booked 2 extra rooms instead of dealing with all this confusion and frustration. It would’ve cost us the same or even less. He agreed that our point was valid, but still insisted on the payment.
Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment. The hotel’s staff handled the situation with immaturity, poor communication, and zero regard for guest comfort. We didn’t come for arguments — we came with family to relax and enjoy. But sadly, our experience was anything but that.
I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of other places in Goa where guests are treated with respect, honesty, and professionalism — qualities that this hotel...

CHECK-IN/OUT: It was okay. We did not faced any issues.
SERVICE: We felt that it was too slow, maybe they were understaffed. The staffs were doing not that good. With proper training, I can say that they can definitely improve their services.
BREAKFAST: Although they have limited options, it was very good.
IN-HOUSE TAXI SERVICE: They provide taxi services with reasonable rates. The security guard was very helpful in arranging us one.
ROOM: We were hugely disappointed. They had given us a room which looked like a store room with air con facility. Very pathetic. The room was next to the rear gate where the kitchen staffs were trolling around to take their supplies constantly. No peace of mind. We had to ask for bath towels as there were none present when we checked in. The washroom cleanliness was NOT upto the mark of a resort. There was a seepage issue (photo attached) with the room. To add to the joy - the balcony door was not getting closed. It won't get locked. The ceiling fan was a master piece (photo attached). The marks on the blades are not rust or paint marks. These are dust accumulated over a period of time. Not sure when was this cleaned the last time. Unhygienic room in total and not safe at all.

Read moreI recently stayed at this resort and was quite disappointed with the experience. While the property has an ancient charm that could be appealing, it is evident that it has not been maintained properly. The infrastructure feels dated, and many areas of the resort look neglected.
One of the major letdowns was the swimming pool. The water was smelly and seemed unclean, making it unusable during my stay. This was particularly disappointing as it’s one of the key amenities advertised.
Additionally, the resort is not a beachfront property as implied by its marketing. You need to walk about 10 minutes to reach the beach, which might be inconvenient for those expecting direct beach access.
