Hogwartz: Best Kasol Hostel

Hogwartz Hostel in Kasol is hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed at, and I say this with complete sincerity. Having been to other popular hostels like Go Stops and Nirvana, I can confidently say that none of them can hold a candle to the experience I had at Hogwartz.
Let's start with the location, which is simply unbeatable. Situated right in the heart of Kasol, everything you need is just a short 5-minute walk away. However, what sets Hogwartz apart is its elevated position, which allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of Kasol's noise. From the hostel, you can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree view of snow-clad mountains, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.
The cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms, bathrooms, and common areas at Hogwartz are exemplary. You can tell that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything tidy and well-organized. Additionally, they provide lockers to ensure the safety of your valuables, giving you peace of mind throughout your stay. And let's not forget about the prices – Hogwartz offers unbeatable value for what they provide.
The food at Hogwartz is not only delicious but also healthy. Currently, they offer a range of basic yet tasty options such as parathas, bread omelettes, and thalis. Moreover, they have plans to open a rooftop cafe soon, which I'm sure will elevate the dining experience even further.
For those who need to stay connected, Hogwartz provides reliable and fast WiFi connectivity. This was a crucial feature for me as I had to work during my stay, and I was impressed with the consistent internet access they offered.
Now, let's talk about the vibe of the place. Even as a solo traveler, you'll never feel alone or bored at Hogwartz. The common area is always buzzing with activity, and there are numerous games available to play with fellow travelers or even make new friends. It's the perfect way to stay engaged, especially on rainy days when outdoor activities might not be possible.
Lastly, I want to emphasize the incredible people who work at Hogwartz. The hostel's success can be attributed to the fact that it was built by a traveler himself, someone who understands the challenges and needs of fellow travelers. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Paritesh, Rishav and Vaibhav for making my stay so memorable. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable. During my time at Hogwartz, I transitioned from being a mere guest to a friend, and I can't wait to return.
Oh, and here's an exciting bonus for bikers: one of the owners of Hogwartz is the Engine Designer for Royal Enfield. So, if you have a passion for motorcycles, you're in for a real treat.
In conclusion, Hogwartz Hostel is an absolute gem in Kasol. It provides a warm and homely environment, coupled with stunning views, cleanliness, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're a solo traveler or in a group, Hogwartz will make you feel right at home. Thank you, Hogwartz, for an unforgettable experience!

Read moreVery poor service and overall experience in this hostel. I booked a 5 bed room in this hostel, and I didn’t have much expectations because it’s cheap, but the service was worse than a dharmshala.
When I went there were 2 staff members at reception and some helpers. We had a booking of 2 nights. When we reached, they took hours to get a room ready for us to check in, so we had to wait outside. Luckily there was a pool and foosball table so were able to somehow pass time.
After we checked in the rooms they were fine, bunk beds, charging ports near beds and lockers for small backpacks.
The first night was normal, no drama.
Because we didn’t feel safe about this hostel, we packed all our stuff in the lockers and took the keys before leaving for tosh.
The second day we went to tosh, did some trekking and when we returned our room was locked from the outside and we were unable to enter. They took some time but opened it with a spare key. After we entered the room, we saw the beds occupied by suitcases, clothes, accessories, that didn’t belong to us. Apparently because the staff didn’t “see our stuff in the room and they were too clean” they thought we checked out and gave our rooms to other people. They didn’t check their records that we had another day, and just assumed we left. They then were unable to assign us another room.
There is no system to do anything, everything is unorganised and simply a mess.
They also didn’t provide us with soap in the washroom to clean our hands.
TLDR; This hostel will not provide you with anything other than beds, the staff are too high to even think properly and just assume things and if you don’t want your belongings stolen then book a proper hostel, not this pathetic excuse...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the hostel is an attraction to the Harry Potter fans. The dorms are named after the characters and houses, the building has flags, and the common room is named as Great Hall, from HP. The hostel is mostly clean and has places to sit and enjoy the sun, and the views around the area. One can eat and drink, smoke, and relax there. Finding and reaching the hostel is a tricky deal too (like Hogwarts, lol) with flights of rocky stairs to climb and narrow pathways, it becomes difficult for people who are carrying luggage and/or have some physical issues. However, for adventure lovers, it would feel great every time. Compared to some of the other hostels I have stayed in, the dorms are less spacious, with low door frames and a working bathroom. There are lockers provided inside the room but, in our experience, some of them were missing keys. Our initial experience was not satisfactory as the host did not call and allotted different dorms to our group members, on arrival even though we had booked the hostel almost about a week ago. However, they later on resolved the issue. The food at the hostel's cafe is okay and not very costly. One can either give the order to the host or online from the menu. There are some regular options to choose from...
