Kings Paradise — Hotel in Jammu and Kashmir

This review is purely written out of good intention to give feedback to houseboat owner and to make people aware.

Me and my wife booked this houseboat for three nights in dal lake and we checked out one day before.

Reasons as below:

1. Quality of stay : it was poor. As promised in MakeMyTrip description, they didn't provided toiletries. There was one used soap kept in bathroom. We carried out own so we were least concerned but this shows their behaviour. Blankets were not fresh, toilet was smelling with some weird smell. Charging points are in weird position that not a single adapter can fit it in

2. Staff behaviour: Staff including main contact person Shiraz was not professional. Everytime we ask for shikara to go other side in market, it was giving us feeling that we are exploiting him. He will make you wait, started cribbing about extra charges. Staff was so unprofessional that after check-in they went to their cabins and there was no one to attend our initial queries.. They even didn't ordered luggage transfer to shikara while checkout.

3. They didn't offered us even single mineral water bottle. They charged for the same Rs. 30/- separately. While checkout we asked them to waive it off as we were checking out early one full day plus we booked our breakfast with extra charges which they can adjust with it but he refused asked for money. There was no issue with paying 30/- rupees but that showed their behaviour and unprofessional attitude.

We booked three nights We booked our breakfast We booked shikara to roam around in lake for Rs. 780/- (I paid 800/-) We were co oeprating during the stay but the overall behaviour triggered is so badly that couldn't stop us to put this review.

This is strongest recommendation to all not to book "kings paradise " or "Shiraz" houseboat for stay in dal lake. They charge you much more and provide nothing. They even don't have their own kitchen.

Book "new sea palace" at ghat 12 instead. Very courteous staff.

P.S. just one thing good about this houseboat is the location. They have quite calm.location with nice...

There is one word for these guys - Fraudsters. They are running a scam.

We had booked 3 rooms on Bombay Heritage houseboat through Agoda.com. On the day of checkin, we were instead taken to Kings paradise houseboat. When we complained about this the owner (a guy called Bilal) said that they all belong to same group. When we checked the tariff, Kings paradise was priced almost half of Bombay heritage. When we further escalated this issue, this guy Bilal very rudely asked us to checkout immediately or manage with whatever was given to us. We were with our family during peak season time so we had no other option but to compromise. Starting from that point, everything was a pathetic experience - Room quality - Smelly sheets and rugs. It was quite cold at night, when we asked for extra rug they straight away rejected. Also there were some red stains on the towel. When we asked for replacement, they gave us fresh towel after almost 45 mins. Also there is huge issue of hot water. If all rooms are booked, be rest assured that YOU WONT GET HOT WATER.

Food- They took 50 mins to cook simple Maggie. When we asked for faster service, the waiter rudely said that we will have to wait for food. Really disappointed.

Service - Really rude staff. They have no sense of how to talk to customers. Horrible really.

Fooling customers - We were told that shikara is not available and we need to pay minimum 700 rs per hour , when we checked with other shikaras later; found that actual rate was around 400 Rs per hour

At the time of final billing, the manager / owner Bilal comfortably inflated the bill amount by 400 rs thinking that we won’t be able to catch the cheating. When we pointed this, he comfortably said it was Addition mistake.

They guys are frauds, please stay away ! Google doesn’t have option of giving 0 star, otherwise that would have...

Food was not good...so don't take food in a package . We have to buy our own food in spite of its package. They should better give one veg thaali of Nathu sweets which in just @Rs.250 to Rs.300 only The rooms were not as good and clean as per price of 5000/- per night. Smell from bed/ 🛏️/ cloths . So the photograph shown in the net is in perfect condition and negative points are hidden. Washroom was also not good..no toiletry given. Just a hard single soap given ..

Even two bottles of water is not complementary in this price. The caretaker way of talking was nice but he did not even CHANGED his cloth from in our 3days ..smell from cloth /person is disturbed us. Care takers should be presentable and clean.

Overall I will not recommend for House Boat stays. Better to take normal sikara rise and just visit to see House Boat area and market on ride only or if want to experience House boat stays then just book for only one day. Not worth more than one day.

I will never stop in a house boat ..better i will take...
