Bhaskar VILLA — Hotel in Kerala

Location was only a 10 minute walk to the North Cliff, where there was a good selection of restaurants and cafes, plus a nice beach to relax on.||Unfortunately though the Two-Bedroom Villa and facilities were nothing like what was advertised on Booking.com, with many of the facilities not even there as following:-||1) Second bedroom was only a curtain off area of the lounge||2) No Wardrobe or Closet to put or hang your clothes as advertised||3) No Tea/Coffee Maker or Kettle facilities in room as advertised||4) WiFi was non existent in Villa at all. When you wanted the WiFi had to go to Breakfast area in Garden||5) No TV, DVD Player or CD Player in Villa as advertised||6) No Washing Machine, Tumble Drier or Ironing Facilities in Villa as advertised||7) No Bathrobe or Slippers as advertised||When we complained about these items on arrival/check-in and the cleanliness of the Villa, plus no mesh over vents in the lounge or bathroom which was an open invitation to mosquito's, we were shown another Villa which was above our allocated Villa, but the condition of that Villa was even worse and was totally unsafe with bare electric wires, so we declined it.||The breakfast that we had paid for was very poor, just a one egg omelet with slice of toast and undrinkable coffee or tea.||On check out, we informed them the evening before that we would want to be checking out at 8am ready for our long drive to Madurai, but of course there was no staff around to check us out, so we had to ring the owner to come and complete the check out. Of course he was very apologetic and unhappy with his staff for not being there.||All in all, after all of my years travelling around the world this must be the worse B & B, Homestay, Villa, Guesthouse or Hotel I have ever stayed in and would not recommend anybody...

Booked a two bedroom villa with A/C, on arrival we were informed only one of the rooms had aircon, but the following night we could have what we booked. So we were walked 100m down the road to a standalone house, we were told we could stay there the evening and move into our two bedroom villa with AC the following night. Sounded ok until he spoke more and we worked out that we were being given the top floor and there was a family already living in the bottom floor. There was a grand central staircase that allowed free and easy access between the top and bottom floor. Each of the doors had locks so we reluctantly agreed, we were given no toilet paper, toiletries or wifi. Along with all the other amenities our two bedroom villa was meant to have such as a kitchen. We spoke the next day to move to our booked two bedroom villa. We were presented with two one bedroom villas, the “kitchen” was an open air cupboard on the side of one of the units that as it was exposed to the elements was covered in a thick layer of dust and leaves, it consisted of a sink, a tap and a chopping board (see photo). The towels were thread bare and I struggled to get any hot water out of the shower head (could get hot water out of the bath style faucet used for filling the bucket to have an Indian style wash)

The owner/manager didn’t have any understanding or compassion at the bizarre experience we had being put into a house with random guests who we could hear having a good time below

This facility is not at a standard that an international tourist would expect by a long long way

Unfortunately, there is no zero-star option, so I am forced to give one star. This was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. I think all the other reviews are either paid or fake reviews. Checking those only we went but felt completely cheated by the other owner and other reviewers.

The staff was extremely unprofessional, using harsh and rude language. staff members and owner even entered our room without consent — which felt very unsafe, even for us as a group of friends. I cannot imagine how unsafe it would feel for families.

We were promised a full villa with two floors, but after payment, we were only given two rooms on the first floor. This felt like a complete scam. On top of that, the staff kept turning off the power supply and blackmailing.

To make things worse, the owner himself called us late at night more than 10 times while he was drunk, demanding the balance amount on the very first day.

Overall, this was a terrible experience. I would never recommend this villa, even if it were...
