A good three star hotel. Rooms are small. Some of the rooms don't have the hill view. If you are lucky enough you might get a deluxe room with hill view which is spacious. I stayed for three nights. The first room which I was allotted is a small one which doesn't have any view. ( I came to know later that it's the biggest room). The bath room is not spacious. Wooden flooring. Equipped with refrigerator with soft drinks. TV is smallest of all the hotels which I have stayed. Never expected such a small TV in this star hotel.
Later I asked for the change of room to have a hill view. I was shown another deluxe room. It's extremely tiny and I had a feeling that budget hotels will be spacious. It's smaller than the previous room allotted. But it had a very good hill view and so I shifted to it.
Good points are: The hill view is nice and can enjoy the nature. Very near to the town. Can have access to bike rentals in the near by hotel. Reception area is very elegant and good maintenance of library. Very well received by the staff. Prompt service by the staff. Breakfast is delicious with wide variety of choices.
Bad experiences: Didn't get a hill view room and all rooms are not alike, in viewing. Deluxe rooms are extremely small and budget hotels are better in this aspect. Bathroom is small and had issues of hot water ( but issues resolved) TV is smallest, tiny. Very disappointed. Had issues with water kettle. Staff couldn't solve the issue. Couldn't get hot water for drinking. The most frustrating aspect during the stay.
If these issues can be resolved, it will be one of the good hotels. You need to check the view before occupying the room. Will suggest some good budget hotels rather than selection of deluxe rooms. Super deluxe and premium might be better,...
Read moreI had only a just above average experience in Hotel HillView,Munnar. But in Munnar, this hotel may be like "Among the blind, the squint-eyed reigns". We booked for 2 nights and 3 rooms from MakeMyTrip application at season time for 5k per 2 person room per night.
Pros- This hotel is situated in the center of the munnar town. The hotel's most staff and security are very well behaved. Adequate parking space. There is a small gym, indoor play area and a conference hall.
Cons: Loose threads were there in Bed sheets and blankets. We had booked for 2 nights, and after first day stay they didn't clean our rooms and not replaced the used items like tea powder, sugar, water etc. When I asked them they told me that the guest have to tell them to clean the room. In most hotels that is not needed and even if there is such hotel policy they should inform us or stick that policy in rooms. But,they provided the replacement items when asked.
We had booked 3 rooms and the calling bells were not working for all the 3 rooms.
No AC in rooms, actually in Munnar there is no need for AC but when I was there the average temperature was 24°C.
Very smelly bathroom and very small space.
At night time or in slightly cold conditions we have to spend a lot of water (atleast 3 buckets of water) to...
Read moreThe hot water is supposed to be available for only 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. But actually it's not available for even that much time. Had to contact the hotel staff as no hot water was coming. They kept saying keep the tap on for some time and hot water will start coming. When I told I had already filled one bucket of water and it was still cold and that bucket of water would go to waste. They simply said to throw that water away and said that I would need to waste 2-3 more buckets of water before the hot water came. After wasting so much water also it couldn't provide hot water for the duration of the whole bath as when you stop the tap when applying soap and restart it, again hot water is not coming so have to finish the bath in cold water. To summarize, I had to waste 5 times the water and thrice the time to have a bath and still not have the satisfaction of it. As per ministry of tourism circular even 1 star hotels are supposed to provide 24 hours of hot water. That makes me wonder how has this hotel received 3...
