Marari Nest Homestay — Hotel in Kerala

Marvelous Homestay and a great host.

We found this place in the middle of the night. We drove to Mararikulam around 11pm without any reservation and called in a Homestay found on Google. We checked that place and not satisfied. We were a group of 17 family members. We kind of lost and didn't know what to do until we saw this Homestay nearby with the phone number by the gate. We just wanted to try our luck and dialed from the front of the gate. Luckily the owner answered and he had enough rooms for us. He immediately came out and showed us the rooms. We were very happy to find this gem. The road leading to this location was narrow and our minibus cannot drive here. Owner offered to help us in the rainy night to dive everyone and luggage in his small car. That was a great help and service. We had a wonderful stay that night. Clean rooms and beddings. Provided us hot water in the morning. We stayed there in June and this review is long due. Excellent host. Clean rooms, pretty garden.

(Only drawback was the road leading to this place, at one point was very narrow for minibus and regular bus. Cars and SUV...

Pros: Breakfast served here (very good) Decent and peaceful facility Courteous host Can spend some time outside our room also in the campus - as there is a corridor with a table and chairs, a small pathway for taking a stroll, with lot of greens

Cons: No lunch and Dinner provided here. We have to use the services of some hotels nearby for door delivery of food. Taxi is not reachable till the Homestay facility - due to presence of beach sand. This made us to take our luggage and walk for some 40-50 feet, in sand. Approach street to the Homestay facility is without street lights (from the main road Church), therefore not advisable to roam around after sunset/or reach after sunset. Plan to reach there in daylight. The beach, though in walking distance, is actually around 200 metres and one has to walk in beach sand to reach there. Sea is not visible from the resort. Voltage fluctuations were there and as a result, AC was not completely functional. We have to close our room doors in the evening, as there were many insects and forced us to shut doors...

It was a nice experience to be there. A nice and warm atmosphere. The children in the homestay makes that stay this much warm feeling of a family. I would say its the best because the beach is only 200 m away from the stay. So it makes us easy to reach the beach. Every time when we goes their we could feel like a family. As a Christian you would get some perks like there is a church nearby the stay itself and we can attend a parish conference which is conducted by Jesus youth at the month of December. So it will be a celibration till the december. Those who are looking for a vacation i dont recommend this place alone. For a one day trip or one week chill out it will be a better option. If we are comming with a friends group this is a better option for them because we get a space for get together also. The main attraction is that we have so many place to take photos. If you are a photogenic this place is for you. I am damn sure that this place will make your memory full (both in mind and phone 🤭).
