Peacock Art Cafe — Restaurant in Kerala

Spending the holidays at Peacock Homestay was the best choice of our stay in Kerala. We were coming from a very intense car journey, we two and my pet, non-stop, from one place to another, until we reached Mararikulam. We met Emma on the beach and by chance she showed us her house, which is the homestay, and we loved it. The first thing that stands out is the taste for decoration and art and the calmness of the home and freedom. We had to continue with the trip, but we were clear that we wanted to find a quiet place to return to in the next week, so when we returned to spend the last days of the year, we went there without thinking twice. The best choice because we went from staying 4 days to staying 2 weeks! The beach is next to the house, the house is super clean, and it is really nice, clean and spacious, but the best: You can use the whole house; all the common spaces are for Emma and Ali and for the guests. You can take your pet and leave it in the large garden without any fear. You can cook, or they can cook delicious food! It must be said that both Emma and Ali are top chefs! Ali with traditional Kerala food and Emma with baking, pizzas, and indian food too! The attention and closeness of Emma and Ali, so nice, generous, helpful and funny! The feeling of being at home. If you need to work, they have a table in the room and good internet, a perfect place to work from home and go to see the beautiful sunset in the afternoon. Much respect and very good vibes. I cannot get started about this heaven of a place just a 100 footsteps away from probably one of the most serene beaches of Kerala - the Marari Beach. Peacock Villa is an artistic homestay which is both aesthetically and physically stimulating.

My husband and I arrived from Mumbai and were welcomed with open arms by the delightful Emma and Ali, who made sure that we were comfortable with everything, starting from the room to the food service. It has an in house cafe so we also had a lunch and a dinner other than the breakfast that is complimentary. The food was tasty and was made with so much love ❤️.

Emma is a fascinating woman with varied interests and we had a great time chatting up with her . She is a great talker and we ended up sharing so much with her as much as she did. She was also very helpful with suggesting places to eat around and also arranged for taxi for our trips. Other than that there is tuktuk service for near by places.

There are books in the house and a lot of area to just laze around other than the private room that you get. An open living room, a portico with a hanging seat. You could read there or just doze off 🙂....

EMMA, YOU ARE THE MOST CARING AND WELL ORGANISED HOST MY FAMILY HAD EVERY BEEN ACROSS, and the place is so well maintened just to get an experience of a luxury hotels would have, charming and soothing ambience, the theme of the house, just a perfect place to unwind and take a break from stress, the atmosphere is so calming and quiet, with a beautiful beach just approx. 20 steps out of the house, and then BOOM you are in a totally different world with nature the SEA. Your place made me think to buy a house there now to be very true.. I like that every thing is organized in a way that its organised well and well timed, every experience one needs is handy, calm place in the house, dining table like an English restaurant next to the kitchen, and off course the beach just 20 steps outside....what else one need to refresh his spirit and mind...
