Property and Hospitality: This property is shockingly inhospitable. There is no provision for lunch or dinner, and the breakfast options are so limited they barely qualify as offerings. If you choose to order food from outside, be prepared to eat it in a shabby outdoor shack—regardless of whether it's scorching hot, unbearably humid, or dark. The area is infested with large ants and spiders crawling across the tables and floor, making the experience deeply unpleasant.
What’s worse, if you ask for basic utensils or plates, you're met with visible annoyance. The staff makes faces or flat-out refuses, as though providing a dish is a massive imposition.
The manager, in particular, runs the place like a surveillance zone—constantly watching guests and instructing staff to monitor and report every trivial action. Whether you're simply asking for a plate or returning one after cleaning it yourself, you're scrutinized as if you've broken a rule.
We arrived two hours before check-in, and although rooms were clearly available, they refused to let us in unless we paid for a full extra day. Instead, we were forced to sit in the sweltering shack for hours after a tiring journey. When we requested coffee, the staff declined—not out of unavailability, but because the manager had ordered them not to serve us after we refused to pay the early check-in charges. The message was loud and clear: if you're not paying extra, you don’t deserve basic courtesy.
Unprofessionalism: The manager’s behavior was the final blow. He was openly drinking alcohol with a group of guests in broad daylight while we sat alone, trying to have lunch in the same shack. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and unsettling, and the blatant lack of professionalism was appalling.
This was, hands down, one of the worst hospitality experiences I've ever had. Avoid this property if you value respect, cleanliness, or even basic human decency.
Edit after review feedback:
It's ironic that you're asking for check-in details—not for verification, but likely to intimidate or harass anyone who speaks the truth.
If you're truly a Bed & Breakfast, then why do you advertise yourself as a resort? That’s clearly misleading to potential guests. Your own response reveals your dismissive and unprofessional attitude, which aligns with the exact behavior we experienced during our stay.
Let’s be honest: you never disclosed in advance that guests would be forced to eat outside in a rundown shack filled with ants and spiders. Calling that a "dining area" is laughable. You’ve conveniently omitted this in your policies, just like you ignored basic courtesy and hospitality during our stay.
Also, we were allowed inside the property—which is how I could even comment on the rooms and service. Denying an early check-in is your right, but withholding basic things like coffee or a plate after that, simply out of spite, is petty and unprofessional.
Your refusal to accept genuine criticism and instead deflect with denial and blame says everything. If you can't handle honest reviews, perhaps rethink your approach rather than staying in denial and gaslighting...

I recently stayed at Seashore Beach Resort for 4 days and had a calming, peaceful experience. Here's an overview of my stay and insights for future guests:
Location:
Situated on the South Cliff of Varkala, offering a serene and quiet environment. The property opens up to the cliff with staircases leading directly to a private beach. Although swimming is not recommended due to strong currents and rocks, the beach is perfect for relaxing by the water and enjoying the scenic beauty. Rooms & Pricing:
The resort has 14-15 rooms of different categories to cater to various budgets. I stayed in their basic AC room, which cost me around ₹3200-3500 per night (including taxes and breakfast). The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Other options include non-AC rooms (which are cheaper) and higher-end rooms ranging between ₹6,000-9,000 per night. Service & Hospitality:
The property manager was incredibly warm, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. He assisted with arranging 2-wheelers, taxis, and provided valuable tips on places to visit, enhancing the overall experience. Ambience & Amenities:
The resort offers a tranquil garden area with direct sea views, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the coastline. Parking is available for both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers, making it convenient for travelers with vehicles. Breakfast & Dining:
One downside is that the property does not have an active kitchen beyond breakfast service. The breakfast menu is limited, and for lunch or dinner, you'll need to explore nearby restaurants or use Zomato for delivery. Nearby Dining Options:
Soul Cafe – Located right next to the property. Cafe Sarwa – Approximately 300-400 meters away. Trip is Life – Around 500 meters from the resort. Summary: Seashore Beach Resort is perfect if you're looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning sea views and easy access to a private beach. While the absence of a full kitchen could be a downside, the location, affordability, and the manager's assistance more than make up for it. Highly recommended for travelers seeking tranquility on Varkala’s...
Read moreI give it a single star only because that’s the least possible on the platform. Now, this is a hostel with 3 wardens (2 male and 1female) who are employed only to ensure their guests do not eat food or consume any snacks and juice in their room. That’s the only work they do and for all other service there is one youngster who runs around not knowing what to do. Babies, young kids, old age parents, diabetic persons, none of them can fit into this ecosystem of not being allowed to eat anything (biscuits, snacks, milk) in the room. Car parking only for 2-3 guests rest all cars are to be parked on the main road. They charge 500 per day for kids upto 5 yrs which is not informed until you arrive at the property. They claim to have sent an e-mail intimation which is a lie. Now the bigger issue, I witness a verbal and physical fight in the property where police were called upon by the tourist because the manager threatened to hit the tourist. Like seriously, how dare they? The owner on call asked the tourist to leave because he/she carried snacks to the room. Highly unacceptable. We travel to new places with things planned and imagine being asked to leave the stay that to a peak season where will they go? I saw this happen to a tourist and immediately walked out along with the guests to show my solidarity against the managements irresponsible behaviour. The staff and owner does not know the H of HOSPITALITY. They need to get out of this business. A ship is safe on the seashore but that is not what it is meant for. In the similar way, a resort is for relaxation and not for us to take in your abuses, absurd behaviour, and your illogical rule of food/snacks/milk not allowed to the room. It’s a request to the readers of my review NOT TO STAY in this property because of the economic rates they offer as this will only encourage them to continue there unruly behaviour with guests. This unruly behaviour has taken place multiple times in the past. A European girl was asked to leave as well and not refunded for her booking. I learnt it from her...
