I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that immediately set the tone for the evening. The ambiance was both elegant and comfortable, striking that perfect balance between luxury and relaxation. The lighting was soft and atmospheric, the background music was subtle and tasteful, and the attention to detail in the decor was evident throughout the space.
We were promptly seated at a lovely table by the window, and our server arrived with a genuine smile and a thorough knowledge of the menu. It was clear from the start that the staff was well-trained, professional, and passionate about food. We were given ample time to settle in and look over the menu, which was beautifully curated with a wide range of dishes that showcased both creativity and respect for classic culinary techniques.
To begin our meal, we ordered a few appetizers to share. Each one was presented with care and precision, almost too beautiful to eat. The flavors were well-balanced and thoughtfully composed. One standout was the beetroot carpaccio with whipped goat cheese and microgreens, which had a wonderful combination of earthiness, creaminess, and a hint of tang. Another highlight was the truffle mushroom arancini – perfectly crispy on the outside, rich and savory on the inside, and served with a delicate saffron aioli that elevated the entire dish.
For the main course, I ordered the pan-seared duck breast, cooked to a perfect medium rare, served with a cherry reduction and accompanied by a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The duck was tender and flavorful, with the skin rendered to a perfect crisp. The sauce had just the right amount of sweetness to complement the richness of the meat without overpowering it. My partner chose the seafood risotto, which was equally impressive. The rice was al dente, the seafood was incredibly fresh, and the dish was finished with a light lemon zest that brightened up each bite.
Throughout the meal, service was attentive without being intrusive. Our water glasses were never empty, the pacing between courses was ideal, and the staff checked in with us just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. The manager even came by to ask how we were enjoying our experience, which added a nice personal touch.
After such a satisfying meal, we couldn’t resist trying dessert, and I’m so glad we did. The chocolate fondant was perfectly gooey in the center, served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a drizzle of raspberry coulis. It was decadent but not overly sweet, and it brought the meal to a perfect conclusion. We also shared a seasonal fruit tart that was light, fresh, and beautifully presented with a crisp crust and silky custard filling.
What made the entire experience truly exceptional wasn’t just the food, which was extraordinary, but the overall feeling of being genuinely cared for. The atmosphere, the service, the presentation, the attention to detail – everything was top notch. It's clear that the entire team takes great pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience.
The prices, while on the higher side, felt completely justified given the quality of the ingredients, the skill in execution, and the overall experience. This is not just a place to eat, it’s a place to savor. I left feeling completely satisfied, both physically and emotionally, and already looking forward to my next visit.
If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers on every level – exceptional food, gracious service, beautiful surroundings, and a sense of occasion – this is the place. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Whether it’s for a special celebration, a romantic evening out, or simply to treat yourself to something extraordinary, dining here is an experience you...
Read moreThis restaurant has lost its glory. New management has ruined it's reputation. During my college days (98-2003 )and working period (2011 -2019) I was a frequent visitor here. After becoming an NRI and after a gap of two years I visited here with family, not knowing that the management has changed. What I could see was a perished Ghost of the old good restaurant. I do remember We had to queue up to get a seat, but to my surprise the restaurant was literally empty for the dinner. That was strange on a Sunday night at Calicut. When I ordered steak, sizzler etc the items were not available. I doubted that the cook was changed. We then ordered a salad : unfortunately it was unpalatable. The Mayonnaise and the contents were too bad. Then ordered vellayappam, to my surprise they bought a cold softened old appams instead of instantly cooked and crispy ones. Which is against the expectations from premium restaurants. We then ordered prawns dry fry and literally we couldn't find the too small fleshy body part of the prawns from its inedible big head part. What we could see was only head. That was plain cheating. Then we ordered wheat porotta and it was so thick, unpalatable and tasteless. A fish mangoes curry was also without any taste. A watermelon juice was so sugary. It was a total disaster and I will not step to this restaurant any further. There's some serious change in the kitchen management or panel of Cook. This restaurant is going downhill. Don't visit here by...
Read moreI cannot comment how the in house dining experience is but I’m finding stories of below average low quantity food and finding cockroaches in food right here in the reviews for the delivery side of things in this restaurant so posting a review on the experience. The food was delivered on time no doubt the delivery partner can be given the credit for it. The packaging is adequate. But let’s come to the food part. first of all it’s less in quantity which you could forgive (after all Le fine dining). Taste wise the chicken was not fresh at all so basic food ingredients are not procured the way you want to (brings back to another such review here on cockroaches). Literally had to discard the food and order from a trusted source. If you compare other places in Calicut, even smaller places have better standards, taste , and quantity in terms of food. Neither the restaurant will replace anything shud they make a mistake in their order. So wouldn’t really recommend a take away from here. Wouldn’t be fair to comment on the in house dining but having dined in the best restaurants serving great Mughlai dishes in the country, I think you come for the food mainly and not...
