Kolkata, also known as the city of Joy, that pulls me here very often…. But I feel to know the city you need a friend or someone to guide you a bit. This city is one of the oldest city in India and former capital - one side little messy and the other side has hidden pearls and of course joyful for all types of people in the society, despite your bank balance…. But you need someone to guide you to the right places for you to get the flavour of the city….. the city is amazing and very matured. I got lucky since I first stayed with Mirra Home stay, that’s where I met couple of bongs in their roof top party, then I got to understand the class of the people and the city, there I met Indranil Chanda, the owner of this property, that’s the best thing to happen… the guy is another proud bong and seems to be knowing the city much better than the people I have met so far…. From the British Calcutta to present city of Kolkata…he has immense knowledge on the heritage, culture, food, hang-arounds, the value streets and shops, even morning walks till night life, … he can advice you to the best of the city (if you can catch hold of him in his busy schedule)…..and of course with a very comfortable homely stay …. well don’t miss the morning walk around the Rabindra Sarovar lake, that just a walking distance away, one of the best place to start the...
Read moreFive stars are not really enough to review this place.some more special stars needs to be added for the warmth and ever smilings hosts. This place was recommended to me by one of my friend and i will further recommend it to others who truly wants to feel a home away from home. The piping hot breakfast cooked by the lady of the house( mrs.monidipa chanda) herself and served with a lot of love and care makes a refreshing start of the day. The rooms itself speaks of the upscale taste of the hosts and every little detailing from the walls to the staircase will bound to attract your attention. Going for a walk to discover more about kolkata with Mr.Indranil Chanda and his wife nandini chanda will obviously carve some fond memories for all the guests. And special mention to be made about the oasis( roof top lawn) which is a breath of fresh air in the city life. Overall this place is well connected with metro facility and other modes of communication and i will cherish staying at this " slice of heaven" for a...
Read moreThe place was very comfortable and easy to find. The caretaker Rabi da is awesome. He made our stay fun and happy. The rooms were neat and clean. AC worked nicely. It was a proper 2 Bedroom, Dining, and kitchen apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed. Tea and Coffee sachets were replaced in time. Water bubbles were provided. Rabi da was very responsive. Their terrace area is the best. I spent a lot of time there, and shot many videos for my pages. Connectivity is quite nice. From the Rabindra Sarovar Metro it's ₹20 by manual rickshaw. There are a few sweet shops within walking distance. It's just opposite to Swiss Park Nursing Home, and hence very easy to find on the map. For longer stays you can buy groceries and a few vegetables nearby, in small gali roads. Talk directly with the caretaker and you'll be fine. Hosts don't stay there and probably remain busy to respond well. The Wi-Fi is not too fast. We used Mobile Data. We enjoyed our stay and would stay...
