Standing meekly in front of Rabindra Sarobar metro station gate 6, is a small tea shop called Tripti. It is a small, nondescript stall nestled near the footpath and one can easily look past it while crossing the place – but not anymore! You will find a small crowd lining up to buy tea from this stall at any point of the day. Why, you ask? Because this is the only roadside stall in Kolkata that sells chocolate tea! Yes, you heard that right! If you haven’t heard about it before (we’re sure you must have, by now), Tripti tea stall serves chocolate tea among other chocolaty drinks and it has taken the city by rage! We went to have this famous tea that everyone’s talking about and we have all the details! What? Chocolate tea, chocolate coffee, malai tea, tulsi tea, ayurvedic tea and more. How much? Rs. 25 for a small cup and Rs. 40 for a large cup of chocolate tea. Where is it? Right in front of Rabindra Sarobar metro station gate number 6, and opposite Bhavani cinema. We also caught up with Bijoy Sil, the owner of the stall. He told us that he’s been selling tea for two years now but the chocolate tea for about two months. On being asked about his inspiration to make such a quirky drink, he said, “In my experience, chocolate tea is only available in high-end cafes and restaurants and I wanted to bring the concept to the middle classes, so that they don’t have to pay a lot to enjoy something like this.” The chocolate cha is made with cocoa powder, a generous amount of Hershey’s chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate chips. Have you had the chocolate cha yet? Let us know!

This is an amazing place to have tea ,coffee etc. This shop is located near Rabindra sarobar Metro. Just get down at the station and ask for Tripti Cafe for the Bhawani cinema. You can also come by local train and the station would be Tollygunge. This shop remains open on Sunday. I Love The Way the staff behaves and also show the way they prepared tea and other items. I first ordered one cup of tea medium tea which cost around 15 rupees. The preparation of the tea was amazing. Hi friend then order one big lassi and you will be amazed to know that he didn't use any water. Uses card adds sugar then add ice and after mixing it he removes ice and later on top of it add some cream. The taste of tea coffee as well as lassi is very good . I am attaching the price list and the menu offered with this review.

TIME - SOMEWHERE IN 2019- Review The best you can get....I can guarantee you that even Starbucks is of no match against its quality, quantity, and taste. ( all the photos posted were captured in 2019) Edit :- September 2023 - Latest Review The taste and the place has lost it's spark it previously had. Just hope that Dada ( owner of Tripti Cafe l is present there. Otherwise, the employees really dont give a damn about the delicacy ( how nicely Dada used to make ) They will just throw things, mix it roughly and give it to you.. Your money will be gone! Its better not to go for high range delicacies if Dada isnt there. Just go for plain Lassi or Plain Tea.. And you'll be good to go. The simple things dsnt take much physical efforts from them and you won't be dissapointed.
