New Dawn Guest House — Hotel in Ladakh Range

If you're looking for a no hassle, comfortable stay during your travels in Ladakh, this could be your home away from home. My wife and I stayed here in late July and recently brought the whole family for a longer exploration of Ladakh. New Dawn Guest House newly opened this year in Leh (Chubi) and is located just 10 minutes walk from Leh main market. It has 8 rooms with king size beds and a sitting area. Rooms are clean, modern and nice. All rooms have a 32 inch Smart tv with cable and Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a nice balcony view of the mountains. Restrooms are also clean and equipped with western toilets. Lobby and dining facilities are bright, open and inviting. There are 2 chefs who can cook both continental (eggs, American pancakes, toast, etc) or Indian food. Ceiling fans are still in the works but most of the rooms stay cool throughout the day. Owner and manager, Chha, is very friendly and very accommodating. We had car issues and he went out of his way to personally take us to a mechanic to get our issues resolved. New Dawn guest house was an unexpected delight for our time in Leh in between mountain treks. To say that Chha, the owner, was hospitable is an understatement. By the end of our stay, it felt like we were saying goodbye to family—Certainly a new friend. I am personally grateful for the time he took to help me take my daughter to the hospital due to altitude sickness. He stayed by her side for several hours. Wow! (She recovered quickly, by the way).
