My stay at Madurai residency was good with respect to the Room Service, Room is hygienic I can give 4 star for this as well as restaurant smd house keeping team. Food tas must be improved. It's bland and matching the taste for kids and elderly. You can't expect authentic Madurai food.

Location. Near to Meenakshi Amman temple.

Zero star for the Manager in the lobby because the front office team is not courteous enough especially the manager is rude and other front office team. As I have visited my relatives visited but not came to stay there as they are localite. They were staying in the room and talking to us and I ordered many items worth Rs. 2000 and had lunch for around 4500 with all my relatives, so it was a good sale. No one stayed with me in the night as they left to their home.

The manager asked my brother to keep his bag down near the entrance not a safe place and allowed it into my room. When I went down and asked for the reason he said that he will use the bathroom, refresh himself and will consume water. But when he already took a bath and came why he must take a bath again. I gave assurance that he will not but still he was arguing and it became an argument between me and him. I told them though they are arguing with me that I gave more than 1 room rent as a snack and lunch ordered in the hotel But when I asked if my brother's bag was taken away by who is responsible, he said that CCTV is there so they can track out. They will wait until we lose things. If they are really concerned that visitors must not use bathroom they must have cloak room or Baggage counter with security.

But they are least bothered to check whether there are any bomb or sharp items in the bag, soon or later this hotel will face a loss due to the Manager and front office executive. They only see that there is no water wastage not safety and security of the guest.

Usually the front office team needs to be soft spoken but they are very rude so be aware and book , if still you want you can go ahead and for sure you will face the rudeness from the front office manager.

If you are nearing the check out time they will ask us to leave soon but I was waiting for 15 min during check in to get a room as they were cleaning. They expect guests to wait but they will not wait.

He the manager triggers everyone in the front office to behave the rude away.

I understand there are some problem creators in the hotel but they have to speak to them , please make baggage counter /storage for the visitors if you are really concerned about the water and visitors must not use the bathroom, please create a department to protect water and the baggage.

I think owners or management are also least bothered as I can see 2 reviews about rude managers and staff . I said that I will give feedback to make my trip and the manager said please give feedback.

I visited this hotel after 15 yrs as I had good experience but they changed a lot these days. No plan to visit in future even if I visit sorry I will not...

Location is a big plus. Located very close to Periyar bus stand and in the heart of the city.

My stay was just for a night and vacated early morning and hence this review is limited only to the room.

Attached the photos. A small but cozy room with a Queen sized bed. Mattress seem to be of spring and hence could feel occasional effect of the bouncy spring.. Pillows, blankets and bed linings were clean and spotless. Had a comfortable sleep and no issues with respect to that.

Well illuminated and lit room with LED 32" TV with Airtel DTH. Mirror, small wardrobe with hangers are available. NO kettle, Iron/pressing board, fridge and safety lockers and hence plan accordingly just in case you are carrying valuables/jewellery. Stationery kit, sewing kit and first aid kit is placed in front of the mirror and are handy. Shoe shiner though handy, was inferior in quality. Laundry bag (seem to be a non plastic and made of cloth) is placed inside the cupboard and far good than other hotels. Offered towels (2 nos) were good in quality and was clean.

Toilet, Wash basin & Bath area are combined together and in a small space and hence it is cramped. Exhaust is through a big window covered with glass which has a poor insulation and hence outside noise of the busy road can be clearly heard inside. Hot and cold water wall mixture (standard home type fitting) and a shower is available. A plastic bucket and mug is provided for people who wish not to use the head shower. Western closet (toilet) was maintained clean. (Standard closet that you would find at home). Toiletries were limited to a soap and shampoo and seem to be a local make.

Big letdown : See photos. Spotted cockroaches running across the room which gives you a disgusted feeling. It seems that fumigation and pest control were not done in recent times. Advice is not to eat anything at room or leave it open even for few minutes.

Parking for a car is limited to few numbers, however security will help and guide you to park in the nearest available area. (Note : Not a valet parking).

Due to its proximity to city centre, temple, busstand and railway station, it is recommended for all kind of travellers for a short stay and is a value for the price that...

A group of 10 senior citizens had booked this hotel(5 rooms) looking via a MakeMyTrip(MMT) tour looking at the reviews in Google. But the experience was something that no one expects.

The hotel check in was on 20th September 2023 at 12 PM. We tried to check in at 4:30 PM and the hotel straight up denied having any reservation from MMT and said that no rooms are available. When we showed them the booking, after a lot of arguments and deliberations they said that they could give us 1 room after 2 hours, 2 more after 5 hours etc. They are absolutely untrained and don't know nothing about the word "Customer Service". They are a bunch of shameless people who bring bad name to any city's tourism.

After a lot of arguments and help from MMT, they offered us two rooms for freshening up and asked us to visit the temple nearby while they arranged rooms. Finally, we were offered 5 rooms at 10:30 PM. No one deserves to be treated like that, mind you this was a group of seniors. No apologies from their side just a straight face.

I wish I could give 0 stars to place. I can't believe that people from the hospitality industry can be so insensitive. I wish they could be punished so that no one else has to go through such an ordeal.

I won't comment on the other aspects since customer service alone is the most important thing to begin with and they lack this aspect.

Edit - I think they are hounding recent customers(whom they might have treated OK) to give them 3/4 star rating on google. Otherwise, it's hard to believe this place is a 4 star...

This hotel is in the heart of the city. It's very close to the railway station & Periyar bus stand. It's also just 1 km from Meenakshi Amman temple, which you can either walk to or take an auto / rickshaw, whichever suits you. About the hotel, it's a pretty standard 3- star hotel with all your regular amenities. The staff is polite & courteous, the rooms are well air-conditioned, spacious & clean, toiletries are provided in the bathroom, hot water is available 24×7, free parking & free Wi-Fi are available, etc. If you've reserved your room in advance, you can ask for a 24-hour check-in/ check-out, which is pretty convenient if you arrive very early in the morning (provided, rooms are available.) They have their own restaurants - Mandapam, where you can have your breakfast & lunch and their Rooftop restaurant, where you can have your dinner with a view - yes, the Meenakshi Amman temple is clearly visible from their terrace. The food is good & value-for-money. It's obvious that they've been in doing this for a while coz it's all sorted. Our stay was very comfortable and convenient coz we had all our meals at the hotel and they guided us with places to visit; the security guard even helped find us an auto early in the morning. We would definitely recommend this place to anybody who's looking for a good hotel in Madurai. We'd prefer staying here again, if/ when we come back to this city.

Not good hotel for family trip!! Actually not good for anyone. This hotel made my trip of Tamil Nadu a bitter memory. The manager/owner is a real thug. They charge for everything and give services really bad Pros- 1located at near place to temple. 2 bathrooms are good. Cons- 1 hotel rooms are totally closed. There are literally dummy windows (photo with reflection of room). The only ventilation available is AC. Too many mosquitos were also there! Some cockroaches too. 2 Rooms are small. Feels congested. (When first entered the room after preparations by staff, the smell coming from bathroom was very bad. 3 there are two single beds instead of one double bed. It reduces space in various ways. 4 Services are horrible. We bought 3 rooms and paid for one extra bed. Even if extra bed were available they just put the mattress on the floor! Later they provide us the bed only on complain! Also the blanket provided for that extra bed was also so cheap!! (Below in photo) Providing different goods in same room! Who do that. Also they manager said that minimum check-in time was 48 hours. (Due to tourists inflow we had to settle to this term) In the end rooms were below average and services were horrible but prices are super high. Not worthy.
