With a Google review summary rating of 4.2 and similar praise on Justdial, it's clear that Sree Sabarees has made a significant impact on the city's dining scene.
The restaurant's menu boasts a variety of traditional dishes that cater to the breakfast crowd, with items such as ghee-laden dosas, fluffy idlis, and crispy vadas. Dinner at Sree Sabarees is equally popular, featuring a pure vegetarian menu that resonates with the city's cultural ethos. Customer service at Sree Sabarees is a topic of discussion among reviewers. While some have faced delays, the overall sentiment remains positive, with the quality of food often overshadowing any service hiccups.
For those planning a visit to Madurai, Hotel Sree Sabarees on Kamarajar Salai is a culinary destination not to be missed. It's a place where the rich flavors of South India are served with a side of cultural authenticity, making it a memorable part of any trip to this historic city. Whether you're starting your day with a traditional breakfast or ending it with a vegetarian feast, Sree Sabarees promises an experience that's as delightful as it is delicious.
I remember once we ordered all the items available for dinner from Sabareesh for my friends from Bangalore two years ago. But now the quality is not up to the mark. When you raise the price of food, make surethe quality is also improved.
We visited Madurai in October 2025, and after our homestay host and others highly recommended Shree Sabaris, we were so impressed that we ended up having all our meals here throughout our entire trip!
🍽️ Food Highlights
Mini Tiffin (Must-Try Breakfast): This is absolutely essential. We visited during peak hours (9-10 AM), and the tiffin—which includes Pongal (perfectly made with a generous amount of ghee), Dosa, Poori, Idli and Vada—was served piping hot and was incredibly delicious. It was a generous portion, definitely enough to fuel a day of sightseeing.
Pro Tip: We noticed the food was freshest and hottest between 9-10 AM. When we visited later (10-11 AM), the taste was still excellent, but it wasn't quite as hot.
Lunch (South Indian Meals): A solid and satisfying traditional meal. The spread of rice, sambar, rasam, papadam, payasam and vegetables was fresh and flavorful. Note: extra papadam and payasam are available for a small additional charge (around ₹5-₹10).
Dinner: We enjoyed the Parotta and Dosa with Vadacurry—it was a great, classic South Indian dinner, consistent in quality with other good restaurants.
🙋♂️ Service & Atmosphere The staff here are truly wonderful. They were friendly and highly attentive, managing to serve every customer efficiently and with a smile, even during the busiest hours.
Location: 5Min walk from station, easy to identify.
NOTE: Their are lots of Shree sabarish, we have attached photo of one we went.
