Hotel Temple View Annexe — Hotel in Madurai

Booked a hotel room via Agoda.co, called and checked with hotel supervisor, Mr. Muthu Manickam on whether can we check in at 3:30 am for an 11 am check in. To this he assured me 100% of one of the two things, that is, if a room is available he would give us, otherwise, he'd let us use the refreshment room where we can use bathroom and get ready for the temple visit and then when we come from the temple, we can check in. He said Mr. Akshar Hussain would be there in his place during that time. Frank and kind enough, unfortunately, only till the phone conversation.

In reality, when we reached there, the security was fast asleep, didn't let us in saying all the rooms are full. He suggested us to go to another Hotel Temple view nearby, showing the direction by hand gestures and that we can cancel this booking. We were roaming around in the lonely streets of Madurai, in the night 3:00 am to 4:30 am, along with my 65 years old father and my wife, to find a room.

Madurai and the temple surroundings have been untouched by commercialization. Narrow bustling streets full of small traders doing brisk business. Autorickshaws, policeman, street hawkers looked just out to an RK Narayan novel. The temple itself will take you back to 1000's of decades, made me feel i may have wandered in the lanes in my past lives. Going in big cars is a no no, you just can't navigate through the streets with narrow streets & police continuously asking you to keep moving. The hotel temple view annex has an old-world charm, an upgraded lodge to be precise. (Better leave it that way) very well maintained both in terms of cleanliness and upkeep, clean sheets, super clean washroom, helpful staff. just a stone's throw away from Amman temple. Highly recommended to stay here. photo opportunity with temple tower at the terrace. Had fulfilling darshan of Sri Meenakshi and Sundereshwar. Not many eateries, hence, better to order at the...

”||||We my family parents n me stay there for 3 nights only its near temple just a few step from temple . wonderful view from terrace . as u could touch the temple. Staffs are very co-operative the reception person is very good. we reached there at night around 11 p.m. 24 hrs check in facility there ..as we reached he arranged our local tour and for Rameshwaram tour next morning. We enjoyed lot it was a nice time we spend . Even Tour manager was very he helped us lot. Next day we step in to temple for the whole u need for temple view properly its huge place . next day we visit again ........the main facility for stay they provide good food in hotel if ordered.. otherwise just oppsit towards temple there is one very good restaurant with tasty food good staffs.....they can guide you for food to choose. with all we are very happy. Our hotel room was small but good.. Better to take Air conditioned...
