P.K.RResidency — Hotel in Madurai

Good Experience at P.K. Rresidency.

We stayed at this hotel during our recent visit to Madurai. We narrowed down this one based on ratings, reviews and price after searching various options online. Booked through Agoda with a good discount. The Hotel is located on the main road opposite to District Court with easy access to bus, cabs and autos. It is around 5kms from the Railway station. The hotel has three restaurants as mentioned in their leaflet Rang Mahal P.K. Coffee Shop Barbe Que Bistro We haven’t tried their restaurant instead we tried Spice Mantra which is located in the ground floor on the left side of the hotel. The food here was really great We booked two Deluxe Double A/C rooms. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with all amenities. They have a centralised A/C. The room has got a big LED TV and has lot of Hindi and English channels apart from the local channels. B’fast was served in room itself in packed boxes. It was delicious. Overall we had a great stay

Negatives Front Desk Executive- Not that friendly- 3 star Complimentary Water bottles- Had to ask for it twice or...

I gave this place a 1/5 rating only because 0 wasn’t an option. CHECK-IN: I made a booking through Agoda for 2. When we came to the hotel to check in at 1 AM, they said there isn’t a booking under my name. I showed the confirmation email and payment confirmation, yet, they said they never received the booking etc. After wasting a lot of time because he couldn’t find the booking, he made a huge fuss about not making a separate booking for kids over 10. Then they insisted that I pay an additional 300 so my daughter can be with us. They kept arguing with me and said that Agoda doesn’t give them the full price and they take commission so they aren’t making money. How is that my issue??? I told them that we are only staying from 2AM-6AM but they wouldn’t budge.

ROOM: The moment we walked into the room, I was ready to run out. There were stains on the bed/mattress cover, no comforter, no towels and no toilet tissues. Room and bathroom were simply atrocious. They weren’t cleaned properly at all. I called for 3 towels and they said they can only provide 2. The pillows didn’t have pillow cases either.

PARKING: Even though the hotel claims to have parking, they don’t have parking!!!! We were told to park on a side road and had to walk a few mins with our luggages.

Overall, this was a terrible experience!!!! Definitely not going to recommend this place to anyone. Totally regret making...

Booked a double bed non A/C room for 4 days/3 nights. The room was spacious and cleanliness was not bad. The bed was very comfortable. The room has wardrobe, small tables, chair, intercom for room service and food ordering. All good.

However, the major issue started with the fan which was running at high speed making huge noise. No control with the regulator. So first day sleep lost. Second day changed room and here the fan was working fine.

In both the rooms, another issue is the cleanliness in bathroom. While the floor, wall, bath pipe fittings and washbasin looked clean, the washbasin pipe, shower and toilet pipe fitting looks they are not cleaned properly for long time.

This hotel really needs some minor room-by-room renovation though the cleanliness and comfort is not that bad. The staff are helpful. In fact, had short talks with one of the owners few times and he was very gentle with response.

Anyway, I liked the hotel for these reasons.

Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Quick delivery of foods to the room. Nearby Veg and non-veg restaurants with in 2-3 minutes walk including KFC, Thalappakatti to name few. Located exactly at bus stop. Can travel anywhere in the city by bus without wasting money for...
