I am retired official from State Bank of India. We have an option to book rooms in advance at subsidised rates as a serving or retired staff (both clerical and official).
Since, we planned late, we could not get a staff quota of room.
Well, lemme write as a common public.
This hotel is walkable distance (approximately 300 metres) from the main shrine - SAI MANDIR!
This hotel did not give me COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST as the receptionist contended that, I should have discussed this matter when booking the room.
I actually called the service desk as this hotel was the official lodging facility of SBI. The person offered me to book a 2 bed room at Rs.2000/= per day with 12 noon being the check-in and check-out rule. This 12 noon check-in and check-out is certainly not customer friendly.
All these hoteliers know very well that, all modes of transport arrives at around 4:00 am and 8:00 am on any given day. And departures of most of the transportions starts between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Despite this, they stick to the rules. None of the hotels are customer friendly. This is some kind of cheating. If we need to get in and out within a day, we need to book for 3 days.
Many who are working may find this as being fleeced. As a pensioner I feel this as absolutely wrong. God fearing hoteliers will not follow such unreasonable policy.
Coming back to the hotel accommodation, rooms are neat 👌 and tidy. Wash basin is clean white porcelain. Water dispenser knob is reverse than usual but, tight and slippery with soap on both hands. This will tend to wasting precious water whilst you are cleaning your hands with soap.
They have western more sophisticated toilet seats short and long steels water dispensers. Our bad luck, they gave us a toilet seat with extended piped water dispenser which was on the left instead of rightside. This clearly shows they certainly are not customer friendly or atleast I felt because he should have alloted a better room considering my old age. Well, money mindeds have no empathy. No use talking about it. I have been in the service Industry for the past 40 years. I have provided my customers services more than they expected. 6 years after my retirement, many of my colleagues call me even this day as how to get how they can get get stationery without much delay. I believe in God. I also believe my good deeds will help my future generation well.
Coming back to toiletries:- They have fixed 2 plastic bottles of premium body gel and premium shampoo. These premium skin and scalp cleaners leaves your skin oily. The body wash smells like the juice of fresh orange. My beautician wife who accompanied me, acknowledged that, these body gels and shampoos are premium quality one's 👌 which contain essential oils to safe guard our skin the biggest organ in human body from being damaged by external forces, calamities especially UV ray's from 🌞. Even the handwash liquid soap is premium!
All the rooms are adequately provided with additional bed(s). Actually double beds can be used by 3 apart from an additional bed.
TV does not have your favorite channel. You need to discuss with the receptionist.
Floor wise WiFi available.
Lift is available. When reaching designated floors, the speed becomes slow motion. Do not panic.
There is a restaurant on ground floor. Many ate their fills. Some how we did not like their dishes. They do not know about south Indian food consistency. Look alikes are served.
So, we happened to spot Saravana Bhavan on the outskirts of Shirdi.
A day before our departure I traced a Swamy Madras Cafe where I found the whole south Indian...
Read moreWe had harsh experience with them.
Firstly, the room was not clean and out of emergency, we used the rest room of our room while observing which we had booked online. The hand flush took lot of time to work because of which some foot marks were there on the bathroom floor which we didn't even notice and for which the service staff called us back and talked in a rude manner.
When we asked for some water, the manager and that service staff's attitude seemed negligent.
When we were not satisfied with the room and decided to change to another hotel, the manager demanded Rs. 500 for cancelling the room and argued arrogantly, even tried to stop us from exiting by instructing his security to stand in front of our car.
He used some harsh words like using a room's rest room ( while we were observing and in emergency condition) is a mistake, instead we can use only general rest room which we even didn't know where it is?
Also the manager said that we should not have filled the form if we wanted to change the room. First, we checked the room, we were not completely satisfied due to it's unhygienic condition and arrogance of that service staff.
So, in the confused mind we filled the form as we were in time- locked situation for Sri Sai baba's darshan on our tired family vacation. But later, we changed our mind due to dissatisfaction ( because of unhygienic room condition and arrogance of both the manager and service staff).
Just because of his ego, the manager asked for Rs. 500 in the name of room cancellation for which we had not even paid any advance, and also he tried to threaten us by saying that he will not let us exit the hotel until we pay him Rs 500 and also told his security guard to stop our car. This is a sheer sign of rowdyism.
For a small issue, your manager and staff created so much of unwanted horrible experience. So we were greatly disappointed with...
Read moreWe had booked Hotel Laxmi Palace through Booking.com for one night stay 26/27 November, 4 persons, and one family room. This was booked considering the walking distance from the Temple. Since we wee to check-in late in the evening between 7 and 8pm, the hotel manager called us around 7 pm to confirm our reaching time and he confirmed that the family room was ready. ||||When we reached there around 7:45pm, the hotel manager checked his records for few minutes and advised us to go to Hotel Yog Palace saying that this hotel belongs to the same owner and that all family rooms in hotel Laxmi Palace had been booked and no single room for 4 persons was available. ||||We had no option but to go to Hotel Yog Palace. Check-in was smooth. Room had one double bed, one single bed and they placed another single bed in the room. They did pay attention to cleanliness of the room and beds. However, we noticed that the toilet/bathroom was in bad shape and stinking! We asked the manager to do the best possible to clean the bathroom so that we could pass one night there and have peaceful Darshan of Shirdi Baba. ||||They did their best but whatever they did was not upto the mark. They must do routine maintenance regularly. ||||They agreed to our request of late check-out at 2pm. ||||Good that the Temple was 6-7 minutes walking distance from here and our Darshan in the same night as well as in the next morning were very good and convenient. ||||They do not have in-house restaurant. Parking for the car was available in hotel premises free of charge. ||||Note that this is a Budget Hotel and our expectation should be accordingly not very high! You get what...
