It was the 14th of March, a warm afternoon at shirdi when me and my mother got dropped off at the hotel entrance. It was only a min when my mother decided to check-in, (I always did the check-in) I carried the luggage and walked 2 ft ahead and I heard this "thud" and my mother had a fall. She fell face front and had a strong impact on her left knee. This was considered as an end to our trip before it even started, she was not in a state of movement of any sort. It was the guy at the reception who ran to help. It marked the start of their humane service. He immediately offered her chocolates so she could feel better and helped me move my mother to the 2nd floor with the help of a chair and the lift. They literally carried her all the way. In 30 mins a doctor was arranged, in another 30mins we were driven to the hospital, in 1hr I learnt my mother had a knee fracture (her knee was broken into several pieces, my horror) in 1hr 30 mins she was administered with medications and adviced that she return to her home town immediately (bengaluru). So here is the timeline: 3:05pm the fall; 3:30pm the doctor; 4:00pm hospital and by 6:00pm back to the room.
Mom was sad that she was not able to see Sai and had to return home without getting to see him. Just then we heard a knock on the door it was the entire family that owned the hotel at our doorstep. They greeted mom with such warm and love and also managed to bring the same hospital wheelchair that she has used the previous day. This was to take my mother to shirdi Sai for dharshan. It was unbelievable that they did such a favour. We were accompanied by Jackie bhaiya and his mother. We were helped to reach before Sai's samadhi in only 5 mins. Mom happily had his dharshan and saw Sai for the very first time. We did not pay any price to get in nor to get Prasad in our hands. This day was blessed apart from her miserable pain.
I had booked the room through MMT and it costed me around 900INR after all the offers I had with me. It was only for 1 night and we were to travel back by train the next day in the evening. As plans were not to our favour that could not happen. Our entire stay was from 3:00pm 14th March till 6:00pm 15th March. Adding on, since the fall was major we decided to fly ourselves back home, sadly there were no direct nor connecting flights from shirdi to bengaluru. It was high time we reached home to get her treated. It was then Jay bhaiya who made arrangements for our flight from Pune to bengaluru and also a cab to take us from shirdi to pune. It was a night cab ride and Jay bhaiya did not hesitate to call the driver every half hour to check on us. We reached pune airport in 4 hours and that ended our service and connection with Krishna sai kutir family? Not at all. Till date we receive calls from them to check on how my mother is doing. It is literally as though we now have a family in shirdi. We were blessed to have chosen this hotel, blessed to have met these humble pure souls. Blessed to have 2 amazing bhaiyas in my life.
Highlights: Their selfless nature cannot be belittled with just thanfullness. Their help in both transportation and financially was completely unexpected. Their want to serve my mother much more than me is heartwarming. We were served with the best healthy food we could get on the land of shirdi. The service, the cleanliness, the facilities were 10 on 10! They left no stones unturned to offer the best they could. This one review is nothing, I wish I could write an article on the newspaper to tell the world such people are there. There is still hope in this world. There is still forces existing to guide you. This is the least I can do to tell anyone who wishes to stay here. Go ahead. They will host you the best. Thank you uncle ji. Thank you aunty hi. Thank you Jay bhaiya and Jackie Bhaiya. You will always remain in our prayers...
Read moreHonest Review - I am not sure why or who has given this place such great ratings. I went and booked this place based on the reviews and because the rate seemed reasonable.
First the positives - Location is ok, hardly 10 mins walking distance from the temple premises. Easy to get rickshaws for temple or for going to the bus pick-up points. The hotel staff is helpful. They attend to your requests quickly and are very soft spoken and cordial. The breakfast provided was decent, we had poha, upma, bread butter and tea. The towels seemed clean and fresh.
Negatives - The rooms had walls where the paint was peeling. The bathroom smelled unclean. The floor had dirt. The bedsheet laid on the bed had stains of oil (like hair-oil perhaps) on it. We thought it must be a used sheet which was not changed. We asked the room service boy to change the sheet, he brought a fresh sheet, which looked neatly folded and clean, but when it was put on the bed even that had oil stains. We asked the reception and the answer was that those oil stains don't come off after washing! Really, are you washing your linen with plain water and no soap? I have not witnessed oil stained sheets in any hotels in past 20 years at least!! This is what Shirdi hotels used to be like in the 90s and people used to manage due to lack of options. The AC refused to provide any cooling during the day. The room only became cool after probably 2am when the outside temperature itself might have went down a bit. We had two family rooms booked, and both rooms had cooling issues. The quality does not justify the pricing. When you have your hotel registered on online hotel booking sites with average 4 star reviews, this is not the quality what...
Read moreThe room was clean and well maintained. The room was very spacious as well. I had booked a double bed room with AC and an extra bed for 3 people. The manager offered to upgrade the room to a triple bed room at no extra cost. Some renovations were going on. The room had a view of the street. AC and TV in the room worked well.
They had provided soap and shampoo as part of toiletries. We got hot water at 5 AM in the morning. Hot water is available from 2 AM - 2 PM it seems. The only suggestion could be bathroom taps can be improved, which I believe they will be working on during the renovation.
The location of the hotel is good and near Sai Baba Temple. A lot of share-autos were coming regularly for Sai Baba Temple as well as Shani Shignapur. The place also had factory outlets of Paithani sarees next to the building.
This hotel does not have an in-house restaurant. There are many restaurants within walking distance. We ate at Woodlands restaurant and it was very good.
Car parking was there for 4 cars. We can park on the road also. The road was decent. The roads are well lit and there is always someone on the road.
I will recommend this hotel to family and business travellers. It's definitely...
