This hotel has been around for a while, and it shows its age. That means a bit of chipped paint in some places, worn furniture and places and things that have been “used” for a long time now. It also means an old-world-ish charm, from the look of the furniture to the design of the hotel and all it has. The grounds, though not large are more than one can expect normally, especially with a place located in the core city, minutes from Khan Market by walk. It’s a great, secure and very convenient location to base yourself at when in Delhi. Price-wise, the place is slightly expensive, but then in pretty much the heart of the city, you cannot expect anything otherwise. Par for the course, in my opinion. Yes, upkeep is necessary (you’ll find your damp spots and peeling paint like I mentioned earlier) and check-in was slow, but it also has its positives. Very quiet, not the kind of 21st century mayhem at some of the new places – too flashy, almost like living inside a showroom. This is more subdued, has some class. We quite liked it. One quite significant area of improvement for us would be the in-room lighting. We had a couple of suites on the ground floor and both of them were wayyy too dim even when we got all the lights on. Being on the ground floor and low on light anyway, this was quite uncomfortable for us especially when the curtains were drawn. Something management might want to look into, perhaps. The food was very nice, we enjoyed it. Anything we ordered we never really had much of an issue with it. In fact, most of us liked it. Their breakfast place is quite charming, if a little cramped. Staff were cordial. All in all, I would recommend this place if you had a bit of money. It’s a bit of a riddle if I try to sum it up – at its price its almost a little short of worth it but it equally does have something about it that sort of fills in the gaps to the point where we couldn’t feel a real regret regarding anything about our stay.

The property is awesome, everything from start to finish is hassle free. We wanted something near Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah, it is bit far but manageable by uber or ola, it is bit difficult to find rickshaw near the hotel and the attitude they carry is a different story. We were in suite 224, though it didn’t had a view but room was clean, tidy and everything placed superbly, only issue was in night the toilet door and the wooden flooring only near toilet made noise otherwise it was a perfect room for someone in need of privacy. Staff is courteous and polite. Pool was closed due to covid but it was super clean and big enough can say by looking at it. Food was awesome say it be brekafast (it had too many options) and lunch because in night we had food outside most of the time. We had ordered Chinese but we got gravy as complimentary and taste was outstanding. The hotel has everything like old school and it looks superb, it has a combination of old school with modern technology. Lastly room has a bathtub, it was rejuvenating. Overall stay was excellent, will definitely come again.

The hotel per se offers excellent hospitality ( customer service from attendants / bellboys ) except a few snooty high handed front desk managers who have not been taught the appropriate etiquette and tone to put across their word. Didn't expect the handle of the washroom to just come off... And the cabinet light to be illuminated full night causing discomfort. Would like to compliment Mr Sanjay Chopra from the dhaba for excellent recommendation and service . The Pickwick restaurant , although provides good food... There is no concept of serving ... For the price one is paying one expects to be served and water to be refilled without asking. Horrible customer service in the restaurant. Would give benefit of doubt to the hotel being overbooked . Would hope the next stay would be better

I just spent a fabulous week at the Claridges Hotel. My friend joined me for the first 3 nights. My stay in Delhi, was so much more pleasant and smooth with the Claridges Experience! Let me start with the pros: Location: A plus. This is the best location by far of all the 5 star hotels in New Delhi. You are never more than 3-5 kms from most of the shops, restaurants, museums. Khan market is close, with the best shopping and cafes. Decor: Just gorgeous! The flower arraagements everywhere were superb, specially the roses. Room and bathroom- The newly renovated ground floor suite was beautifully decorated and very luxurious. Our black marble bathroom with antique brass fixtures was one of the most spectacular bathrooms I have ever been in! It was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in No 6. Restaurants and Food- Fantastic. We had breakfast daily at the Lutyens cafe. There was quite a spread with an extensive hot and cold buffet and an omelette/ waffle table. The assortment of bread and cheeses were very good. I also dined at the Thai restaurant which was excellent. Separate review. I have always stayed at the Oberoi and I think the quality of the buffet in comparison to the Oberoi, is not as good. e.g. The idlis were not fresh. There is no fruit juice station. The fruit selection is limited. The uppama was not well made. So, even though Lutyens was very good, it was not outstanding like the Thai restaurant at the hotel. Staff- Was always smiling and willing to assist. Duty managers and Front Desk staff were very kind and efficient. In Room Dining: Fantastic! I was unwell and on two separate mornings, ordered masala chai early am. It arrived steaming hot within 5 minutes, exactly as I asked. Cons: Service: Lacking. Service in the Lutyens Cafe was haphazard. There were several staff floating around but did not seem to know what to do with themselves. They were not trained as in the Oberois to keep repeatedly coming to the table to check. The garden restaurant/ bar staff were especially inattentive. They always seemed to be looking in a direction other than our table. We had drinks there on two evenings and both times had to get up and call the staff for assistance. Pool side: One evening there was a party in the garden so we sat by the pool for a drink. There was no one to serve us. We had to go inside and get a waiter. And, they wouldn't serve us food until I asked for the FB manager. If the garden has an event, please arrange an alternate venue for hotel guests to enjoy the outdoors with service. The most glaring issues were with the housekeeping, which on the first day rearranged and repositioned my toiletries to make room for the hotel amenities!! This was unacceptable. After all, I am trying to make my hotel room feel like my home for a week. The last problem is with the efficiency of the room design-All the room lights except the bedside lamps, are switched on with one master switch. If my friend was in the living area and I in the bedroom we could not separate the lighting. This is a big flaw. The bedroom slippers provided are guaranteed to make you fall and hurt yourself. Even though I threw them in the waste, they appeared every day by my bedside! Even though I placed my shoes in a corner where they would not be seen, every single day they would be moved and placed on a mat in full view of the entrance and sofa as they were a museum piece of art!!!There are too many amenity boxes in the small bathroom leaving little place for ones personal belongings. The limited counter space in the bathrooms has to be made available for guest beloingings, not stuffed with fancy marble boxes. These are small issues that can be corrected including the larger one of training the staff( specially housekeeping and Lutyens/ garden) to be more focused on guest satisfaction. If Claridges straightens out these minor wrinkles, it will be, far and above, the best hotel in New Delhi. I will definitely return and recommend it to all my friends...

Went for an event which was hosted at the Claridges. The hotel is an old world and classy one located on APJ Abdul Kalam Road (Aurangzeb Road) . It's a beautiful property and the moment you enter the porch is there and opposite to it a wonderful garden space where people can sit and enjoy quality time. The event we were attending was being held at the senate , which is located on the first floor . One can take the lift (which is a bit small) or the grand stairs , which is what we opted for. The senate is a nice small size ballroom with an approx capacity of 50-60 people . It was perfectly setup for the event . There were Alkaline water bottles which were kept on every spot and even in the sides along with glasses so that one can easily pour it. After the event we had a high tea for networking and discussions and the spread was fantastic. They had both tea and coffee aswell as some biscuits . But for the main food they had some amazing Bun sandwiches which were made of soft buns and filled with a mayonnaise dressed veggies , this was really delicious. Then there were chicken pakoras and fish fingers and tartar sauce. The pakoras were good but the fish fingers were fantastic , very crispy , freshly fried and quality fish . Then there were mushroom puffs which were tasty and the best was the Asparagus , Cheese and Celery quiche . They were small and packed so much flavour , really cheesy and the taste of spices and veggies really complemented each other perfectly. There after there were sweets which were amazing aswell. The brownie with ice cream here was very well made and I generally never say this. Went perfectly with the warm chocolate sauce. Finally the Rum Berry Cake , again just Wonderful. Perfect flavour balance from a sweet to a bit of bitterness from the rum to tart thanks to the Berry sauce. Fantastic food and service and it's great hotel for such events.

Went to Dhaba here after ages and had an amazing experience. Will be visiting more restaurants in Claridges in the near future , Have posted the review for...
