Good earth is a scam! We got a good earth gift voucher from a friend. The voucher was in SGD. We were in Delhi, visited the Good Earth store as we wanted to buy the items by selecting them in person rather than ordering online. The store declined the voucher saying its in SGD, so we asked them to use the foreign exchange rate + any surcharge for that day and let us buy the items in the store. They refused and said we can only use the voucher online.
So we went to the Good Earth India website, selected the items and at checkout the website declined the voucher. We called up Good earth and they said we must select the items in the same currency as the voucher. To our utter shock the prices in SGD are DOUBLE that of the equivalent prices in INR. The cost of bowl in INR is 5000, after converting to SGD with the going exchanging rate the cost should approximately be SGD 81, however the cost is actually close SGD160!!
So Good earth is charging folks overseas at least 2x if not more. Furthermore, since the voucher was in SGD we HAD to get out stuff delivered in Singapore for a delivery cost of SGD 40! Good Earth refused to deliver the item in Delhi, when we were in Delhi and had a local Delhi address.
In the end we ended up spending extra money to buy 4 already overpriced bowls. We had to use the voucher as it was a gift and we did not want to waste the money of our friends who gifted it to us. Good Earth is out there to just get your money!
The quality of the bowls is sub-par, its a faded print...
Read moreRather negative when it comes to customer service. I could not move around freely. There was always somebody beside me watching, and I felt like a criminal on probation. An older man (tourist) came in and wanted to exchange a product which his wife has bought. She has chosen the product upon seeing it on display. Unfortunately she didn't check the content of the box beforehand and as she opened the box in her hotel, it was broken. The watchdog lady accused him of being not truthful. Unfortunately I could not overhear this conversation but after witnessing how this man was treated, I returned all the products and left the shop for good. Being such and overpriced shop it is difficult to imagine how employees treat customers. In this moment I found it hypocritical to call your...
Read moreThe designs are indeed beautiful. As they described their recent collection “Orient X Occident” it really is. Although I deduct to stars for first the products and clothing happen to be extremely overpriced. I’m not buying a Czech glass, a VB china or a Fornasseti so why so expensive? We’re living in India after all and the average income for Indians even for designer products has to be taken into consideration if it’s an Indian made product. I had bought brass coasters which changed colour in Delhi’s humidity in less than a month. The chinas are beautiful and pleasant to look at but well, I only have the mugs what can I say. The pricing for clothing, cushions and quilts are just bizarre. A quilt for 30k? No thanks! No matter...
