L'Ocean Guest House — Hotel in Puducherry

I stayed here because I like the location and at 400inr, it seemed fair for hot water and free wifi - luxury to a backpacker budget.||The male staff were friendly from the get go. However, the second night I had an intrusion at 11:20pm offering me fresh linen as I just came out of the shower - answering the incessant bell in a towel at the urgency. Two hours later, the bell kept chiming and eventually answered it to the same young man pointing to my bathroom. I told him 'no, it's inappropriate you can't come in' before he tried to push his way past. I forcefully closed and locked the door (I understand the need for 2 deadbolts and an inside lock now!) feeling very insecure about the event which will be left with authorities.||Due to these circumstances, I can't offer a great review, but am forewarning solo women to take caution. Just for 1-2 nights stay, and if you don't wanna spend any time in the room during the day, then this could be an ok place to stay. The staff is courteous and helpful, though not many are good in English.||The room per-se is ok for a backpacker, but for a hygiene freak, it'd be a big No. The bed linen didn't seem very clean on one side. The bathroom fittings seem like haven't been serviced or repaired since manufactured. Almost everything's broken, and just manage to work.||As I anyway spent all the time out of the room, didn't really mind those. Its just 3km away from rock beach.

Very comfortable place.

They have their own restaurant and good service.

The place is well maintained and budget friendly.
