🌿 Anthe, Pondicherry – A Fresh Breath of Flavour and Style
Tucked away in the picturesque White Town of Pondicherry, Anthe offers an experience that is as much about ambiance as it is about food. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a calming yet elegant setting. The interiors are tastefully done with modern, clean lines, soft lighting, and a soothing color palette. The place strikes a balance between being trendy and cozy—ideal for both relaxed brunches and intimate dinners.
🍽️ Ambiance & Seating
Anthe has multiple seating areas, including an indoor lounge, an outdoor garden space, and semi-open corners that let in the gentle Pondy breeze. Whether you’re catching up with friends, celebrating something special, or simply soaking in the vacation mood, the setting truly enhances the overall experience. During the evenings, the place glows with warm lights and often has live music, adding a charming vibe.
👨🍳 Food & Flavors
The menu at Anthe is where creativity meets comfort. It’s not your everyday South Indian or Continental fare—you’ll find thoughtfully curated fusion dishes, global plates, and regional touches with a twist.
We did ordered from their North Indian Menu like butter and garlic and cheese naan and also their juneja butter chicken which is creamy, rich and satisfying is a must try. They have various alcohol options and cocktail menus.. their continental is also to die for. They have some unique asian options as well and their baos and momos are scrumptious.
🤝 Service & Staff
The service at Anthe is generally excellent. The staff is polite, helpful, and many go out of their way to offer dish recommendations or tailor dishes slightly to suit preferences.
💵 Pricing The pricing is on the slightly higher side, but it matches the quality, presentation, and ambiance offered. A meal for two usually ranges between ₹1,000–₹1,600, depending on what you order. For a special meal or vacation splurge, it's well worth it.
Anthe is not just a place to eat—it’s a place to experience. The blend of ambiance, inventive cuisine, and warm hospitality makes it one of Pondicherry’s most talked-about dining spots. It may not suit everyone’s budget or tastes, but if you're in the mood to try something fresh and stylish, Anthe is absolutely...
Read moreI really don’t understand why this place is being hyped up. Visited this place with my friend on a Friday evening (wasn’t that busy), ordered a Tandoori Lobster, Porcini Chicken Ravioli, Tiki Puka Puka, Naughty Passion and a Triple Chocolate Semifreddo. Food Rating: Tandoori Lobster- 4/5 (Good and fresh Lobster) The only dish that I liked here, you can try this for sure. Porcini Chicken Ravioli- I never received this dish, the waiter came up to me after an hour of waiting and after checking with them twice, he says that he placed the order wrong and instead of Ravioli they have made Polo Porcini Risotto!!! I WAS LIKE WTFFFF…
You needed an hour to figure this out and kept me waiting until then???? Just to serve me the food that I never ordered?? This is ridiculous. And he says if required they can serve me with Ravioli if I don’t take the Risotto which is already on my table, I told him that I cannot wait for one more hour for the Ravioli and I ended up taking the Risotto which wasn’t that great!! It really wasn’t worth the cost or the taste and texture wasn’t good at all.
I didn’t want to report this over there and create a scene which might be a disturbance for the other customers.
Now comes the interesting part, so after making me wait for more than an hour to serve me with the food that I haven’t ordered they have the audacity to charge me with a FIXED GRATUITY of Rs. 565 lol.. What service have you provided me with??? Serving me with the food that I didn’t order??
If you would like to advertise your place as a premium cafe then hire WELL TRAINED STAFFS so that you can charge this amount from people and focus on what is happening...
Read morePoor Management of Dining Atmosphere Absolutely disappointed with our New Year's Day lunch experience at ANTHÉ Restaurant. What should have been a special family celebration was completely ruined by poor management of the dining atmosphere. A child at the next table was playing with an extremely noisy toy throughout our meal, making it impossible to have a conversation or enjoy our food.
When we politely informed to the staff about this, instead of handling it professionally, they somehow managed to make the situation worse. The other group became confrontational with us, with one of their members actually approaching our table to argue! The staff's "solution" was to offer to move us in the middle of our meal - seriously?
On a previous visit, we experienced similar issues with the restaurant unable to maintain a pleasant dining atmosphere. It's clear there's a systemic problem with how they manage their dining space and handle customer concerns.
There needs to be some basic consideration for other diners. If you're planning a special occasion meal or hoping for a peaceful dining experience, SAVE YOUR MONEY and go elsewhere. What was supposed to be a memorable New Year's Day lunch turned into a stressful, uncomfortable experience that left us wishing we'd chosen any other restaurant.
The staff clearly needs better training in handling customer complaints, and management needs to seriously reconsider their policies. This was supposed to be our special New Year's celebration, instead it became a complete waste of time and money....
