We stayed there for three days(Non AC). The hotel is good according to the affordable tariff. It's not a luxurious one obviously but you will like it if you are searching something within a budget.
Beach is 5-6mins (walkable), Temple is at 25-30mins distance from the hotel if you walk. Market, temples, sargadwar samshan all are near to the hotel (walkable distance). You can get a partial view of the sea and temple from the terrace as well.
Coming to the rooms, they are clean, spacious, lookwise good; comfortable overall. Bathrooms are clean. Rooms are not suffocating and enough sunlight enters through the balcony/ window.
They don't have housekeeping facility as such but there's Mashi who will clean the room (only jhadu and sweeping the floor) for 25/- per day (they don't provide kits for bathroom//we got one little piece of soap bar and a comb in the non AC one;;they don't change the towels/ bedsheet//we stayed there for three days and ours wasn't changed even for once// might change for longer stays or at extra cost, have no idea).
Not all the rooms have geyser facility which might be a challenge if you visit during winters. The blankets are very thin and might be discomforting if the temperature is low. A few sockets are faulty; tv doesn't have popular movie channels subscription//wifi cannot be used in the rooms (all these might not affect your stay if you are not bothered much).
Staffs are cooperative to some extent (not always). Special thanks to Sahil dada for helping us throughout. Rest, the staffs are well mannered but we had a dispute on the day of checking out as there was a misunderstanding and they were confused due to lack to proper entry of data most probably and one of the staffs was quite rude at that time as he was not ready to believe us and after giving proofs and further checking, he finally agreed with us and it was sorted after sometime. We requested to extend the check out time for an hour as we needed a bit more time to get ready and pack everything. The staff present in the reception at that time politely agreed but during the dispute while checking out, the other staff asked for 500/- as a late fine even though we took barely half n hour extra and took permission beforehand. (Probably he asked for it as we denied to pay 150/- [6 cleaning count for three days] for Mashi where we took only 4 cleaning in total i.e., 100/-. Later we gave that 50 rupees willingly as we didn't want to leave with a dispute// they didn't take that 500/- though).
But I won't stress on this incident much as misunderstandings/mistakes might happen, we all are humans afterall!! Just a little recommendation, data should be entered properly and confirmed with the guest during check in to avoid these kind of issues which might negatively impact the guest.
Overall, it's a recommendable place. I would surely like to visit again. Just a few things can be taken care of by the hotel authority so that the guests can have a more pleasant, convenient and hassle...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Sairaj Inn, and honestly, it was quite a disappointing experience. The management is extremely poor—there’s no sense of professionalism. One of the strangest rules they have is that you can’t even talk while standing at the reception. It’s almost as if they expect guests to be silent as if in a library. The WiFi is nonexistent, so if you rely on the internet for work or entertainment, you’re out of luck. The rooms are decent, but not all of them have TVs, which is something they should clearly mention while booking. On top of that, electrical malfunctions are common everywhere, making it a frustrating stay. Their Tours & Travels service is an absolute nightmare. The driver we got was drunk, which made it too risky, especially for families with kids. It’s shocking that they allow such carelessness. Another major issue is that they argue over silly things, which makes dealing with the staff frustrating. None of the management staff even have a BHM degree, so their lack of hospitality training really shows. That said, the regular staff members are quite cooperative and well-behaved, which is one of the only positives. I also had a room on the 3rd floor, and while I don’t remember the boy’s name who assisted me, he was quite good at his job. But given all the negatives, I’d say this place is barely a step above a 1-star lodge. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have no...
Read moreI recently stayed at Sairaj Inn and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean and hygienic, which made my stay comfortable and worry-free. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming, with most of them being Bengali.
One of the best aspects of this hotel is its location. The Jagannath Mandir is just a short walk away, around 1 km, making it convenient for those interested in visiting the temple. The beach is also very close, only about 300 meters from the hotel, so you can easily enjoy the beautiful coastline whenever you wish.
However, I did face one issue during my stay. There was no geyser in the room, which made it quite challenging to take a hot shower, especially during the winter. This was a bit of a discomfort, but overall, the positives far outweighed this minor inconvenience.
In conclusion, Sairaj Inn is a great place to stay with a fantastic location and great service, though I would recommend addressing the hot water issue for...
