Rangniwas Palace Hotel — Hotel in Rajasthan

This place is perfect for a stay if you want to explore udaipur. Beautiful rooms with all the comforts you could need , a nice accessible pool (though i didn't use it), and a kitchen with the best food i have tasted in the whole of udaipur. Rooms: 3 types, standard, superior and deluxe all affordably priced between 2000 to 4000 a night. Stay multiple nights and get discounts. No complimentary breakfast but the food is decently priced and there is a varied menu with all the delicacies of Rajasthan including lal Maas, as well as continental food. Had the best lal Maas here. I can't eat spice so they made it non spicy. But very tasty. Also had a fish in butter sauce with a mashed potato unlike anything I've had , and very tasty sauteed veggies. Food has timings so make sure you place your order so you don't miss out.

Service: the staff is very very hospitable from carrying bags to making suggestions for site seeing and even accommodating in terms of food. Dinner is from 6 to 10 but last order is at 8:30. So i placed an order at 6 and cam back and are it at 9. Very kind of them to prepare it and wait for me.

The staff has been with the family (descendants of Maharana Pratap) for years and we're very kind and caring as were the owners themselves.

Location: it is the perfect location as the side entrance of city palace is literally a 1 minute walk from the hotel. Bagore ki haveli is a 15 minute walk. I hired a rickshaw for the day and paid rs 600 to rs 1200 for the day depending on where i went. This is the perfect location to access city palace, jagmandir, bagore ki haveli, the jmb sweetshop at Suraj Pol (which has the best ghevar , but get the malai one, and the cashew soan papdi), and even visit karnimata temple and dudh talai on the other side. We had the most wonderful stay of 4-5 days at Rangniwas. The owners were so cordial and professional. The property is well maintained and has a very calm vibe. It's a very beautiful property. There are orange trees, marigolds and roses all over the property. The tiny pool is very well maintained as well. There were 3 adorable daschunds and the most gorgeous Persian cat, we loved them so much that we miss them now! The staff are very helpful and the food and vibe at the restaurant is amazing. The owner gave us a free upgrade to our room as well, which had 2 balconies facing the garden. The bathroom and shower facilities on the ground floor rooms are quite modern but on the first floor it could have been similar, but nothing to complain about as such. There are also packs of monkeys that like to come and visit the property for its fruit trees, they cause no harm and are often chased away by the loyal doggos. Lots of parrots are found all over the property as well, it makes for a very wonderful sight while lounging around. The location of the property is a big plus, it is at a walkable distance from the city palace, the lake pichola sunset point, karni mata cable car , the car museum and there are plenty of roadside eateries that serve a hearty breakfast for 20-30 rupees.
