Virasaat Haveli, nestled in the heart of Chandpole in Udaipur, stands out as a truly unique dining establishment in the city. With a diverse array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian offerings, the restaurant caters to a wide range of culinary preferences.
Among the various dishes we sampled, the Lal Maas accompanied by Makai Roti stole the spotlight. The succulent pieces of meat bathed in a flavorful gravy created an exquisite symphony of taste that left us thoroughly delighted.
On the vegetarian front, the Paneer Bhurji, while decent, didn't quite reach the same heights as some of the other offerings. Moving on to the rice dishes, the Chicken Biryani, though aromatic and rich in flavor, fell slightly short of the expectations that come with being a Mumbaikar accustomed to the city's famed biryanis. Similarly, the Chicken Fried Rice left us with an impression of adequacy but didn't quite stand out.
In terms of its popularity, Virasaat Haveli seems to have garnered a substantial following among foreign visitors, which speaks volumes about its appeal on an international scale.
However, it's worth noting that this dining experience may not be the most budget-friendly option. For those inclined towards a chilled beer, the cost amounts to ₹300.
In summary, a visit to Virasaat Haveli is recommended for those seeking a unique and memorable dining experience in Udaipur. While some dishes may outshine others, the restaurant's distinct offerings and international appeal make it a noteworthy destination for both locals and...
Read moreI visited this restaurant primarily for the atmosphere, but unfortunately, I don’t feel the food or service justify the higher prices.
I was recommended the chicken tikka, which had a pleasant tangy flavour and a good char from the grill. However, it wasn’t as tender as I’ve experienced elsewhere during my trip. The mixed vegetables were quite average and lacked any standout qualities (but it was nice of them to dona small portion). On the bright side, I did enjoy the paratha, which was well-prepared.
Overall, it’s a nice spot to relax, but the cooking doesn’t live up to the price tag. The service was also a bit odd and could use improvement. I had to wait a noticeable amount of time just to get a menu and eventually had to request it myself. The staff’s behavior was rather unusual – several people tried to guess where I was from (unsuccessfully) and, at times, stood awkwardly in front of me, looking at me either while I was eating or sorting out my bill (which was wrong). It felt intrusive and made me quite uncomfortable, like I might have done something wrong – though I’m still not sure what.
Additionally, service charges are not included in the bill, and no guidance is provided on how much to tip, which I'm not a fan of personally.
In summary, while the ambiance is inviting, the overall experience didn’t meet my expectations, especially for the price.
Would give 3.5 but can't...
Read moreVirasat as the name suggests providing exceptional services to the guests with no hesitation . I have a very positive experience regarding the services and the food of the restaurant. I visited this fabulous heritage architectural style restaurant with my family . We had kebabs , tandoori chicken , laal mass and authentic indian breads having dessert at last . The dinner was absolutely delectable and easy to consume . Never had any complaint. Mr. Rajiv the owner of the restaurant was of very courteous and cordial nature , he treated my family like his own family with all incredible and amazing communication skills . I do admire the romantic ambience of the restaurant with candle lights and bottle lights with a peaceful and loving environment . Also, the achitectural style , the furniture and the lightings are designed in such a way that seems like visiting a royal Rajputana haveli . I will definitely visit this marvellous place again and again (until i do not die) just joking . I recommend people to visit this restaurant and try non vegetarian varieties. Especially Laal maas , it is the most covited speciality of the restaurant .
At the end i would like to wrap up my review by suggesting people to atleast once visit this restaurant in their life time . Thank you Mr. Rajiv singh chauhan for all your incredible services and exceptional...
