This is our first experience with Greenlands youth hostel. I am giving 1 star in terms of Location, Comfort, Customer care & Food.

We booked one room but they provided different room. we traveled from Chennai and reached 8.30AM but they have handover the rooms by 1PM. yes as per terms 11AM is the check-in time, but they haven't provided basic things like washroom for referencing. we have waited long time with Kid. poor response from Receptionist. (They reduced 1k from bill - people need respect & response not a discounts)

I am recommending this place only for view point not for stay.

Average Rooms are available with Mountain viewpoints. No Mobile Network connection & poor wifi connection but that will be good to enjoy & spend time with family and nature.

The room size was moderate but the interior was not much pretty good. Foods are not available (No Restaurant) they will provide only idly for complementary breakfast. Not recommended to take Maggi & Coffee over here.

Car Parking – Available to park only 7 card max (Open Roof own parking) - we struggle lot to take a vehicle because unformal parking of 7 vehicle.

Stayed with family for three nights and below is the review based on my experience.

1. The best reason to stay is the stunning view of nature. Be it any time of the day, the view from the Greenlands youth hostel makes the stay worth it. We were lucky enough to view when fully covered with mist/clouds and through clear skies. We could see towns of Theni ( even the windmills ) and Periakulam from the spot. The view of the towns from the hill at night looks like diamonds sparkling.

2. The landscape maintained is another great place to relax. The lush green grass and well maintained greenery. It has a place to have Bonfire and i would recommend carrying a chargeable speaker would make a great addition to the place.

3. The Circle cafe makes a great addition. We have tasted the food / drink over the cafe and it is mouth watering. No words to describe the effort and interest put in by Mrs.Naveena.

4. Located within 5-10 mins drive from the bus stand and market place makes the commute easy.

5. The rooms and comfy and clean. Best part is having the supply of Hot water 24x7. Unlike many other resorts they don't depend on solar panels for the hot water. The good capacity heaters are able to deliver hot water throughout the day. People going with kids/elders will appreciate what I am saying.

6. The breakfast served was as good as Home food.

7. One thing to be aware is that none of the mobile networks catch proper signal. Wifi support is provided.

Overall its a great team effort from Mr.Nithin, Mrs.Naveena and Mr.Ganesh. The stay was pleasant and Comfy. Would highly recommend the place for those who wish to...

This place probably has a best view in kodaikanal, Imagine waking up to a view so mesmerizing that it can create an illusion that you are still in your sleep , dreaming. Please note that this is not an upscale place with luxurious interiors or fancy bathrooms.But the hostel is comfortable and hygenic. located about 3 KM away from kodaikanal lake this place offers a complementary breakfast in the morning, hot water from geyser( wasn't working in every rooms ) and a camp fire on the peak. But only if you pay first. We went in the month of October and we knew we made the right choice. Cloud kissing your face as soon as you open the door , pretty flowers dancing for a cozy breeze every now and then, once in a while mother nature clearing the sky just to show us how breath taking the view can be. Clouds touching the lake seemed to have a mystic conversation among themselves. And to start with the night view the place reaches a different dimension. Its like fairy lights glittering and lighting up the city and the campfire with a personal music playlist. might have gone a little overboard with the explanation but this was as close as I could get to describe this serene place.
