Truly Herbivore — Restaurant in Kodaikanal

The food was overpriced, taste was just average and the portion size is unacceptable. The restaurant is not dedicated to Jain food as they have advertised, only a couple of dishes out of their menu are Jain friendly. So if you are there to check out Jain cuisine then you will be totally disappointed.The ambiance is worth mentioning, but when you don't get what you ordered and you have to pay unbelievable price for it, that's just rip off. I wonder whether their chef had ever tasted ChurChur Naan, when they are charging 100+Tax per naan they could atleast watch some YouTube video to see what it actually is, the same with Kumbh Mattar. The sweet corn soup was good, but i felt like it had a whole lot of MSG in it, which was not what I had expected. Paneer butter masala and kadai paneer was something that i found recommendable, but then for that price tag the portion quantity is not acceptable. The Cheesecake was a total disaster, it definitely had no mascarpone cheese in it, i even wonder whether there was any cream cheese in it, the texture and taste resembled more of a cheap mousse cake. On top of all these they decided that it is ok to serve the main course before the starter...!!! And when i pointed it out to the restaurant manager he acted like it was normal, didn't bother to offer any apology. When they are charging like an upscale restaurant the least they could do is to act like one, FAKE IT TILL...

The worst possible behavior by Staff especially the manager. Series of Incident:

1 - When we were ordering food we asked can you give us 5 liter Bottled water (since we were 9 members). The waiter told us they dont have it and we can get it from outside.

2 - Few mins later a gentleman (Not manager) came and told the waiter you take the order and if they want water give Himalaya Still water ( Rs 200 for 750ml). The reason was told they dont allow outside water.

3 - we ordered 2 bottles and after finishing them we ordered for 2 more… the 3rd bottle given to us was open and we were told that since they dont have bottled water now We are allowed to get water from outside.

When we raised the matter with manager he said we never said NO for getting outside bottled water.

When we requested for the name of the person who had said No for outside water the staff members were not able to tell the name.

I fail to understand how a restaurant with such rude and unethical behavior with customers has such good ratings.

I would advice each and every person going through the review to think before going to this place where the only objective is to steal money from customers by some...

Wow and the Best Vegetarian Multi Cuisine Restaurant near Lake at kodaikanal. Service No.1. By Saravanan and Ganesh has made us to visit again and again. Food A class and Best in Taste and Quality. Atmosphere Suits to All ages with the special seating to suit all ages and heights. Multi Cuisine with Italian, Indian Sizzlers, Paradise like Dum briyani Rotis and Starters especially Malai and Peri peri Spicy Brocholi, Mushroom Guntur Chilli. Peri Peri roasted Corn, Vegetarian kohlapuri, Noodles., to be short everything is tasty and delicious. We enjoyed and continue to enjoy with the family. Wish you all to enjoy The Best
