Greenyards Cottages — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

Dear Greenyard Cottage Homestay,

I am writing to express my utmost disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at your homestay. The complete absence of amenities has resulted in an extremely unpleasant experience for me as a guest. The lack of basic necessities such as toiletries, towels was completely unacceptable. It is inconceivable that a homestay would neglect to provide these essential items, leaving guests to fend for themselves or incur additional expenses to purchase them.

Furthermore, I was disheartened by the lack of proper bedding and linens. One of the beds was even broken, and no key was provided for the main door, which added to the inconvenience and discomfort.

One of the most significant issues I encountered was the limited access to hot water. Despite the assurances given on your website and during the booking process, hot water was only available for a mere two hours each day. This restriction made it extremely inconvenient for guests to take showers or perform basic hygiene routines. Such limited access to hot water is highly unsatisfactory and falls short of the fundamental expectations for any accommodation.

The absence of proper communication regarding these issues further contributed to my dissatisfaction. If these limitations had been conveyed to me prior to my arrival, it would have been more acceptable. However, I was not informed about the restricted access to hot water or the absence of essential amenities, leaving me feeling misled and deceived.

To compound the problems, the cleanliness of the toilet was subpar. It was not cleaned properly, which was both unhygienic and unpleasant. Additionally, the absence of a clothes hanger made it difficult to properly organize and store our clothes. This lack of basic amenities added unnecessary frustration to our stay.

Moreover, I must bring to your attention the issue with the mirror in one of the rooms. It was not cleaned adequately, making it impossible to see anything clearly. This lack of attention to cleanliness and maintenance further added to the overall dissatisfaction with my stay.

To add to the disappointment, I was taken aback when the caretaker asked for tips despite the fact that we had already paid the full amount for our stay at the beginning. This behavior was unprofessional and left a negative impression on me.

Considering the multitude of issues and the lack of satisfactory resolution, I cannot recommend anyone to stay at Greenyard Cottage Homestay. There are numerous other beautiful accommodations available in Ooty that provide better amenities and a more pleasant experience.

I sincerely hope that you take my feedback seriously and address these concerns promptly. The complete absence of amenities, the issues with hot water, the broken bed, the lack of communication, and the inappropriate request for tips all reflect a disregard for the comfort and well-being of your guests. Pros: Located well within the city and accessible to many nearby restaurants & sight seeing. Hot water is only available from 6 am to 10 am. Does not need any AC or Fan as the place is very cooler than expected. (Kindly carry warm clothes to keep yourself warm in these conditions). Swiggy and Zomato deliver food to this location. Washrooms are hygienic and well maintained. Cons: Not recommended for family stay. Rooms are close to each other and not sound proof at all. Your privacy is at stake if you keep the door open as rooms are very close to each other. No in house food available. You have to either drive out and eat or order food online through Swiggy and Zomato. No towels were provided which is sort of a BIG inconvenience as the weather over there would not dry up clothes faster. Even if you want to use your own towel it will take days for the towel to dry. No tea or coffee available at all which is sort of a BIG disappointment when you have to either go out or order it online especially when it is raining. Loud sounds of other guests and even TV in the lounge which can be of some inconvenience early in the morning.

Overall experience was good. The room was clean. But they have not provided any towels. If you ask then only they are providing. There is no breakfast option. But we found restaurants within 1km. The hotel is located near to Botanical garden and the market. So you can shop chocolates and other stuffs in the evening.

One thing I want to mention here is never book a car from this hotel for site seeing. We asked the care taker to arrange a car for coonoor site seeing. He said the hotel owner has a car and he can arrange that for us. The driver was so rude and he was driving so fast. We didn't even got a chance to enjoy the scenic views on the way to coonoor. We asked the driver to go to stop some viewpoints but he refused and directly took us to the viewpoint. Also we asked him to take us to one tea factory but firstly he refused but when we insisted he took us to that spot but he charged extra for that. In short don't hire any car from that hotel.

The care taker was nice all the time but while checking out he was asking tips and asked us to give review infront of him, that is not a good way to ask review.
