We(couple) made an advance pre paid booking for Deluxe Room with Agoda(5372 for 2 nights, June starting, weekend 2023 ), we reached around 10AM , after reaching there I requested them for a room as I was aware that their check-in time was 12 and I'll be reaching early so I had already informed the hotel management earlier. As per our prev communication on phone they said Sir u can reach here, we'll arrange a room for fresh up then u can shift in your deluxe room . I didn't have any issues with that but to my surprise after reaching here suddenly they started behaving cunningly, they offered a small room 101 with no Deluxe room views/amenities and no privacy( there was just this single room in GND floor and door was directly opening to their office room/front desk, that was a direct NO for a couple). And the worst thing started when they started insisting sir this is the Deluxe room u booked, they were simply trying trying to cheat me giving just any ordinary driver room/unknown config room in the name of Deluxe room. Its not like they were giving the room just for fresh up actually they wanted us to stay in that room for 2 nights when we had booked and paid for deluxe room. Mr Arun behaved so cheaply, I actually had to show him the specs and pictures of the Deluxe room mentioned in the website, he kept insisting the room which they were offering is the real Deluxe room, I asked where is the city view, he said sir we mentioned city view is from outside gate, Lol, there was no wardrobe, no double sofa, he kept insisting until I shown him the pics, then also I got a reply sir wait till 12 if someone will checkout we'll let u know, I mean what is this, we had pre booked, thats ur responsibility to arrange for room, what kind of response is this which has doubts in words(if someone will checkout then..), it was so irritating and tensely, I had to actually wait near their reception till 11:50 AM unless someone checked out and they confirmed they r giving the Deluxe room. Then at 12:25 finally they gave us the Deluxe room and that I can say was satisfactory, everything was matching as per pics, rooms were clean and then we never faced any major issues, charging ports were not working properly but rest all things were good. Hot water was also coming, breakfast was also good and tasty(but few items get finished early and they dont even fill that again like Upma) I would have rated this 4 star but given their attitude of trying to cheat customers I'll give -ve star if possible. Secondly, once u order room service, they take their good time in doing it. So if u want to have tea at 6pm. Better order around 5-5:30 pm. Even asking for water is agonizing. They take 20+ minutes to deliver water.
For dinner I ordered dal fry and was served the bad old one. It was tasting sour and bitter. I called them thrice to re-order. And eventually I had to go to their restaurant to complain. And then they delivered right fresh dal to the room. They clearly knew they were serving bad dal.
The telephone to call the restaurant does not work in a few rooms (I booked two room). They have two numbers for restaurant and none of them were working in one of the rooms. I called reception to let them know, they were not ready to accept that the numbers 2 and 7 for restaurant wasn't working.
You can keep asking for extra milk packets and coffee pouches to have some coffee in your room, but u will never receive it.

Hot water facility is limited in a hill station like ooty where the temperature drops up to below 10 degree. Rooms weren't properly cleaned and you could find bits and pieces of hairs lying everywhere. Duvets weren't cleaned properly and were very dirty. Although the room service boys Nandu and pandian were helpful, however the management needs to ensure the rooms are properly cleaned before the guests check in. You have an onsite restaurant and its good. Location wise this is walkable distance to the local market. Do not expect a 3 star facility here as its an average property good for a one night stay. No heater facility. No lift, is provided. Winter season could be grilling without hot water, heater and bathroom windows aren't sealed, but the oldskool one with the manual opening and closing of the windsheilds.
