My partner and I stayed in Tiruvannamai for a few days and at this hotel for one night. We paid Rs 700 for a non-ac double room which was a windowless cell. It was very dark and there was a lot of noise at night. Renovations were currently taking place so there was no wifi and although the restaurant was open the menu was very limited and was full of building work dust. The location was ok; the bus stand was a walkable distance and the main temple about 1km away. However the hotel is situated in the busy downtown area; after one night we moved to the backpacker street in the vicinity of the Ramana ashram, 2km from the temple. We stayed in a lovely little place above a shop opposite the German bakery and very close to some other hippie chilled out café restaurants. This place had the same facilities as the RR but in a better location and for half the price. It was also light and had windows and a balcony! We would recommend the RR for a night or two but for a more pleasant stay in Tiruvannamai head to the chengham Road area...

This hotel ruined our stay. They failed in every single area:
• My family had to take cold showers at 5 AM — geyser wasn’t working. We waited 1.5 hours after raising the issue, but no one fixed it.
• No staff at reception. Only one office boy, who kept delaying things and gave no proper response. • I asked for an extra bed over 20 times from morning to 10 PM. What we got was a dirty mattress, no pillow, no bedsheet, no blanket. • The room was filthy – smelly bedsheets, unclean washrooms, dirty cupboards. • AC didn’t work, the room was noisy, and there was no peace or comfort. • The hotel has no system or support, just one person managing everything. • To top it all off, it was overpriced for this disaster of a stay.
Save yourself the trouble – avoid this hotel at all costs, especially if you’re with family. One of the worst hotel stays...
Read moreThough my experience last year in this hotel was terrible, I still tried to check the improvement this year and it was awesome. I did tell the front office staff about my last year's horrible experience and they were open enough to acknowledge and said that quite a lot has improved and the stay will be excellent. I still took a chance to stay for a night there with my family and for my surprise, the stay was indeed pleasant and fulfilled my basic requirements. This hotel has a good car parking space, in house restaurant (food is just average - nothing great), rooms were clean, AC was functioning fine and best part is that, it is affordable. This hotel is about 1.5-2 kms from the famous temple. Though I have a mixed opinion about the hotel, but I would recommend this hotel based on my recent stay and its definitely...
