Hotel Arif Castles - Lucknow — Hotel in Uttar Pradesh

We were traveling from Delhi to our hometown, Lakhimpur Kheri. On the way, we decided to stop in Lucknow for a night to do some shopping for our family. So instead of heading straight home, we stayed in Lucknow for a day.

We had booked a stay with breakfast included—or at least that’s what we thought. At checkout, we were told that our booking didn’t mention breakfast, so we were charged for it. Thinking it might’ve been our own mistake, we quietly paid and proceeded to check out.

Up to that point, things were still manageable. But then came the real insult— The receptionist stopped us, had our room thoroughly checked before letting us leave. Even the cheapest hotels don’t treat guests like this. It was humiliating. This had never happened to us before. We didn’t argue, stayed quiet, thinking maybe it was their standard procedure. But after speaking to other families who had stayed there, we found out this isn’t how they treat everyone.

To put it bluntly—if you plan to stay at this hotel, wear a suit. If you show up in simple, travel-friendly clothes, their receptionist will treat you like a thief and humiliate you without hesitation.

My husband and I are both doctors, and after a hectic work schedule and constant travel, we just wanted a peaceful break to explore and shop in Lucknow. But this hotel turned that plan into a frustrating memory.

Next time, we’re booking Novotel or Ginger—almost the same price, but far more professional.

I went to check the hotel with my mother to stay there for a few nights while visiting Lucknow. The only good thing about this property is it’s location. It’s centrally located. As soon as I booked the room and was moving out of the property my mother fell down the portico and broke her Tibia and Fibula (Ankle bones) This is not just an isolated incident. Many locals and a few security members at the gate informed that this is a common occurrence. The material used to make the portico is so slippery that atleast twice a day someone falls. But my mother suffered serious injury and had to undergo surgery to get the bones in place. She’s still recovering it’s been 2 months now. We’re hoping she’s going to be able to walk normally. Also the hotel doesn’t have any wheel chair access. The staff is helpless in common day to day tasks and has to wait for the seniors to guide them every time. If you call for tea, it’s served in your room atleast 40 mins from the time of order, since there’s only one cooking station which is shared between the room service and the restaurant down stairs. The rooms are not really up to the mark in terms of facilities. Breakfast is average, this place is only good for its location. I believe the owners who apparently are also an established builder firm are now focused more towards overseas projects and no heed is paid to this property. Disappointing Experience at Arif Castles, Lucknow

My recent stay at Arif Castles, located in the heart of Hazratganj, was a highly disappointing experience. Given its central location, we chose this hotel expecting convenience and comfort. Unfortunately, it failed to meet our expectations on multiple fronts.

Upon check-in, we were initially assigned a small room that was in terrible condition. The room was cramped, poorly maintained, and far from the standard we anticipated. After expressing our dissatisfaction, the management did upgrade us to a suite. However, to our dismay, the suite was also in an appalling state. The bathroom and the room seemed like they hadn't been renovated or properly cleaned in ages. The overall appearance was completely contrary to the polished images advertised on Google… The level of cleanliness was unacceptable and left us with a feeling of disgust…. The hotel management's lack of attention to detail was evident throughout our stay. Basic amenities such as slippers and toiletries were not provided in the room, and no effort was made to ensure our comfort or satisfaction.

The misleading online images, lack of cleanliness overshadowed its prime location. I would not recommend this hotel to others looking for a comfortable and hassle-free...
