We had booked 4 nos. Super Deluxe Ac Room through online booking process, for 3 nights (check in – 26.10.2024 check out – 29.10.2024 at your Hotel Lara India, Varanasi vide Booking Reference Number – LARA-07248840324 dated 03.07.2024. We had talked to the hotel over telephone before booking and it was directed by the hotel that, only online booking through your official website will be accepted, no physical booking is available. Accordingly, we booked 4 nos. Super Deluxe Ac Rooms through your website after viewing all type of available rooms. Surprisingly, during check in on 29.10.2024, we have been provided 4 nos. rooms vide nos. 204, 208, 209 & 210 which were below standard level room, price of which should not be more than Rs. 500/- per night per room, whereas my total booking amount was Rs. 43680/- (including GST) i.e. Rs. 3640/- (including GST) per room per night on an average. We had also complained to the hotel reception verbally, but they were very casual and no positive step had been taken by them. Some of the hotel staff confessed themselves that, room nos. 204, 208, 209 & 210 are originally a mess and short of garbage, and they were also surprised that, why hotel authority provided us those rooms. Basically this is clear cheating from your end towards tourists who shows faith on you and your hotel and based on whom you run your hotel business, which is not accepted at all in accordance with the genuine professionalism. The followings are the issues which I had faced during our stay at this hotel. I am also attaching few pics and videos of the said rooms for your reference.

I recently stayed at Hotel Lara with my family, including my elderly mother and uncle. The hotel's location is unbeatable, situated just 10 meters away from Nandi Chowk (formerly Godulia Chowk) and within walking distance to Kashi Vishwanath Mandir and Dashashuumer Ghat.
The hotel room was clean and well-maintained, and the restaurant served delicious food. The manager, Sarmaji, was extremely helpful from the moment we booked our stay. He assisted with transportation arrangements, guided us on booking Aarti and Rudraabhishek in advance, and even recommended a stunning visit to Gauri Kedarswar Temple at Harishchandra Ghat.
The staff were prompt and courteous, providing excellent service throughout our stay.
However, there are a few areas for improvement:
Rodent control: We spotted a rat in our room, which was a concern. Tea and coffee amenities: Regular refills and a closed container would be appreciated. Adding a wooden spoon and small biscuit packet would be a nice touch. Eco-friendly initiatives: Using recycled containers for toiletries would help reduce plastic waste. Bathroom accessibility: A higher bathroom stool and handrail near the commode would greatly assist elderly guests. Toilet amenities: A heavier commode seat cover, toilet roll holder, and soap holder at the shower area would be beneficial. Cupboard redesign: The current cupboard design makes it difficult to access the hangers.
Overall, Hotel Lara is an excellent choice for those seeking a strategically located hotel with exceptional service. With a few minor improvements, it could truly excel.
Recommendations: Book Aarti and Rudraabhishek in advance: Book at least 15 days prior to your visit on the Kashi Vishwanath website or app to ensure availability. Target the early morning Rudraabhishek: Aim to book the first Rudraabhishek of the day for a serene and peaceful experience. Use wheelchair services for elderly: Take advantage of the wheelchair services available at Gate 4 for elderly individuals to ensure a comfortable and accessible visit. Experience the energetic Gauri Kedarswar Temple Aarti: Visit the temple between 9 pm to 10:30 pm to witness the captivating Aarti ceremony and feel the energy...
