We had a bit unusual experience about our stay. We had booked 2 rooms with separate toilets specifically on first floor because we had 2 senior citizens ( 80 years and 65 years). This was frequently confirmed with and by the owner Mr. Gaurav so much as on the day prior to the arrival ( a days rent was paid in advance whilst booking). However upon reaching, we had 2 unpleasant shocks - 1. We were alloted a single room with 2 extra single beds thrown in and a combined bath /toilet. 2. The room given were on 2nd floor. Now 2nd floor of this property is equivalent to 4th floor of a city building. The senior citizens struggled heavily to haul themselves up and down. When we argued about this the owner presented us with a 'Take it or Leave it' attitude , which further left a bad taste in our mouths. Finally the owner offered us a 200 Rs discount on the room rent and allowed us an 3 hour extended checkout. Upon enquiring about the goof up, the owner mentioned that their manager quit and hence they weren't aware of the bookings. Whereas the owner's father mentioned that there were foreigners who extended their stay and hence could not be refused ( whereas us desis could be stuffed into a room, no problem). Amenities were akin to a hostel ( we were given 3 towels, 1 was a standard towel length and the other 2 were essentially wash basin length napkins. As a statement I knotted them back to back, hopefullythe owner got the messageof the inadequate length. ) The owner's attitude gave me an impression that he had a bias against Indian tourists, as according to him, we Indians are unfaithful and only on the look out for a rip off. To be fair , the owner did 'magnanimously' allow us to wash our clothes as opposed to their policy of not letting their occupants wash their clothes.
Other than that the location of this property is exceptional, it is stone's throw from Darbangha ghat and Dashwamedh Ghat and food options are many and near.
Special Note to senior citizens, this facility does not have an elevator and given the geographic landscape, a floor rise here is worth 2 floors in the...
Read moreA village type house they have converted into a hotel or hostel, services are poor aa hell. No professionalism and they will give you renter and owner vibe. No necessity available like hand wash, slipper, even room and washroom is connected and the whole room will stink like washroom as it it connected and no partition of wall. They have curfew timing as if you are some actual college hostel and will behave like wardens, cheap behaviour, man over there roaming in underwear, whole family is running the hospitality business without any skill or experience just renting rooms from there house. It’s is not at all any guest house or hotel or hostel. It is a village sort of house with no manners to host a guest. Paying 2400 for living like a renter that too for a single day is waste. Asked to leave at first place when will got there after 11 pm. There license should be canceller and actions should be taken for harassment. Total waste of money and suffering at the same time. Location...
Read moreThis place provides the quintessential Kashi experience. 😉 Their facilities are basic but adequate. I didn't book it for 5 star amenities and hence didn't have any complaints. Lots of options for food within 5-10mins of walking distance from here. I was recently on a 3 day stopover at Kashi and had booked a stay in Mother Hostel for its proximity to the ghats and Kashi Vishweshwar temple. Its location is exceptional and easily accessible once you get a hang of navigating through the famous bylanes of Kash. The owner botched up our stay by replacing our two private rooms booking into one room on their top floor with a single bathroom! This was after repeated assertions and confirmations over the preceding month. We had already informed that there are senior citizens traveling with us but his excuse later on was that his hostel is not meant for seniors! Why was this not said upfront? I'm taking 2 stars off for this behavior alone. This apart, we didn't have other...
