New Baba Restaurant — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

We searched thia place on Google and by seeing good reviews decided to try this restaurant which is in small ally, 10 minutes walk from the main road. We ordered a chicken burger and mashed potatoes in continental menu and dal tadka and palak paneer and sone chapatis. It took more than half an hour to serve our food. Chicken burger was burned also the bread which was clearly stale and fries with burger were burned. Mashed potatoes were not even mashed properly and were below average in taste. The vegetarian dishes, the most common of it in any indian restaurant is dal tadka (onion and tomato dal in menu) was absolutely below average so does the palak paneer. Definitely not...

Had dinner here tonight and the food was good, but it took almost an hour to come to the table. However, we will not be coming back because I witnessed something that put me off my food. The kitchen is upstairs and the freezer seems to be downstairs. When somebody ordered chips, the old man on the counter dished some frozen chips onto a plate and sent a toddler to bring the plate upstairs into the kitchen. Well, I saw the toddler licking the frozen chips on the way up. I know kids are kids and the chips got deep fried after, but this is just not something that should happen in...

Stopped by our way back from Kedar Ghat. As bengali food options are extremely limited in Varanasi right now, we asked the owner if he can provide home style bengali meal. He agreed and we left with satisfied tummy. The veg thali we had consisted of rice, deal, mixed veg curry, papad, salad, dahi and achaar. Tasty food that is easy on belly won our heart! If you want to have fish or chicken you should call few hours in advance, we were told. Place is simple but very clean and hygienic. Lots of other food options, coffee and other beverages were available....
